Chopping Wood, Carrying Water… and Making Shots

Hey there, Coach Ermay here!
I’ve been working on something behind the scenes for a long time, and I can finally say it out loud:
I just finalized writing a new book.
It’s called “Chopping Wood, Carrying Water, Making Shots” it was inspired by a player and it’s written for players who keep saying, “I want to be more consistent,” but don’t yet live like it day to day.
The core idea is simple:
Your real training ground isn’t the two hours in the gym.
It’s the other twenty-two.
How you sleep.
What you eat and drink.
How you use your phone.
How you show up to practice.
How you react after a bad game.
The book breaks this into a 1% system: small, boring, repeatable choices that quietly stack over weeks and seasons.
Things like:
- The 60-day habit blueprint for players
- 1% workout structures you can run on any empty court
- How to build a personal “1% logbook” so you actually see your progress
- How confidence, belief, and trust in your work fit together
- How to live like a pro even if you’re not being paid yet
It’s by no means a hype book.
In a way it’s a manual for players who are ready to stop talking about work ethic and actually build it into their daily life.
Before I decide on the final format and release, I want to keep it inside this community for a moment.
If you’d like early access, reply to this email with “1%” and tell me:
- your age / level
- what “being consistent” would really change for you this season
I’ll use those replies to shape the bonus material and who gets the first sample chapters.
Talk soon,
P.S. If you know a player or coach who needs this, forward this email to them and tell them to reply with “1%” as well.
