What I’m learning from Overseas pros (and how it can help your game)

Over the last weeks we’ve been reconnecting with Kevin Owens and watching what he’s building with Overseas X.

It’s a special thing to see; past, present, and future pros in one room, talking honestly about the game, contracts, identity, and what happens when the ball stops bouncing. No hype. Just real conversations.

It has also reminded us why we started Ubuntu Basketball in the first place.

Ubuntu has always been about more than drills or highlight clips. It is about helping players, coaches, and families think better, train smarter, and make good decisions over a whole career.

Two quick stories from current Ubuntu Basketball clients:

• Liam (from the UK) is a 17-year-old guard who felt “stuck.” He trained hard, but his decisions in games were slow. For the last three weeks he has been using our Zero Seconds Film Lab clips to tag his own reads after practice. He started with one simple question: “Did I keep the advantage or kill it?” Last weekend he messaged me that, for the first time, he felt ahead of the defense instead of chasing it.

• Coach Maya (from Germany) works with a U14 girls team and was overwhelmed trying to organize practices. She joined our Chalkboard e-learning portal and started using one simple ProLab-style constraint each session. Her girls now play faster, talk more, and parents are asking what changed. Nothing magical; just better structure and a clear focus each week.

Inside Ubuntu Basketball, everything connects:
