The Furrever Friends Sweet Romance series is now free in Kindle Unlimited (and also for sale, but the ebooks are only at Amazon). These novels feature the workers and customers at a small-town cat café, and the adorable cats and kittens looking for their forever homes. Each book is a complete story with a happy ending for one couple (and maybe more than one rescued cat).

It feels like summer here in New Mexico. Phil and I had a nice hike in the Quebradas Backcountry. Just look at that blue sky! image

imageForbidden Bases by Alexa Fauli: “I’m Carter Blake—star first baseman for the Bridger City Falcons. Fame, money, women… I have it all. Except the one woman I was never supposed to want. Darcy Simmons is my best friend’s little sister. Off-limits. Always has been. But when she comes back to town, every line I drew years ago blurs fast. One bad night, one viral photo, and suddenly we’re pretending we’ve been secretly dating. It’s fake. Temporary. Harmless. Until it isn’t.” This is “a sweet baseball romance featuring fake dating, brother’s best friend, no cheating, and a guaranteed HEA.” Amazon only for the ebook, in KU.

imageMystic Brews & Murder by Karen McSpade: “Eager for a fresh start after forty, witch Samara Snow settles in the charming coastal town of Winter Haven, Maine, and opens her dream teahouse. But when she discovers the body of a local knitting champion in her apartment stairwell, and the dead woman’s cat claims he’s her adopted familiar, her peaceful new life is in jeopardy. Now she must awaken her magical powers to solve the mystery and clear her name. But who can she trust? Samara teams up with her best friend Ruby, a nosy knitting circle, and her snarky black cat to uncover the truth.” Amazon only for the ebook, in KU.

imageThe Wacky Duology (box set) by Stephanie Harina: “Alynna Paredes is used to being invisible. She's the poor girl with big dreams and zero options. But everything changes when her wealthy half-sister, Janina, offers her a once-in-a-lifetime deal: Take her place at an elite college for one year. New name. New life. Full ride. The rules? Keep the secret. Don’t mess it up. Absolutely no falling in love. Too bad no one warned her about Sky Anderson. When they strike a fake dating deal to get his ex off his back, Alynna’s simple plan spirals into a web of secrets, lies… and something dangerously real.” Suggested for people who “enjoy K-drama or manga-style comedy,” which is big these days!

imageThe Anaconda's Curse by Jill Hedgecock: “In 450 BCE, a treacherous river journey down the Amazon River may cost an indigenous teen his life. A teen boy longs to be accepted into his mother’s indigenous people. Superstition has always prevented the two of them from belonging. Now, as shocking truths are revealed, he questions his true birthright. Will the boy find the community acceptance he desperately seeks or will his mother’s revelations put his life in danger?” Free with newsletter signup (unsubscribe any time). The novel that follows this, Pizco, is highly rated.

What I’m Watching: My spouse and I have been really enjoying High Potential (Hulu). The mysteries have a great blend of drama, humor, and heart. Bonus points for starring a woman in midlife (the actress is now fifty), with a diverse supporting cast!
