Voice recognition mistake of the day: “unless he’s a ferry creature ...” Yeah, pretty sure the character wasn’t a boat. 🧚‍♂️

To no one's surprise, ferret photos were a favorite of newsletter readers. That makes it even harder to report that we had to say goodbye to our beloved Bear Bear this week. We had him for over seven years, and his age was catching up with. He spent his last day doing things he loves: cuddling with Mama and Dada, eating fish oil, drinking water from the shower floor, and snoozing in his many cozy spots. Here’s a photo of one of his advanced yogiferret poses.

It’s autumn in New Mexico, which means the high temperature may be anywhere from 30 to 70. We don't get many trees changing color, beyond cottonwoods down by the river turning yellow, but we do still get some nice sunsets.

I’ll be in Arizona for Thanksgiving and my mother’s 88^th birthday. Arizona is the setting for the Accidental Detective humorous mystery series: a witty journalist solves mysteries in Arizona and tackles the challenges of turning fifty.
