Phew. I am completely wiped after a long conference weekend. The good news is that it was WriteOnCon 2020 and everything is online, so I can share with you my favorite sessions!

There are over 20 sessions open to the public that don't require a ticket To find them all, go to the Schedule and check off "Open to the Public" in the right-hand options column.

My Favorite Open Sessions:

Author Hannah Carmona kicked the weekend off with a keynote blog called There is No Right Way to be a Writer.

I love everything editor Mary Kole does, so check out her Building a Writing Career talk.

Author Olivia Hinebaugh presented a session called How to Give Kick-Ass Critiques (and let me tell you, she gives awesome critiques).

New for this year was Indie HQ on the forums (which are all open access), where indie and self-pubbed authors presented and answered questions. I got a lot out of How to Set Up and Optimize Your Book Cover with Heather Wenonah Ellis.

Requiring Admission:

Author Alexa Donne did a great vlog on Red Flags for Schmagents and Well-Meaning-but-Untrained Agents.

In addition to the usual Pitch workshops with agents (Kaitlyn Johnson's was excellent!), author Alyssa Hollingsworth did a Q&A on Queries and Pitches That Worked.

Author Henry Lien had a great Q&A on How to Create Unique Fantasy/Science-Fiction Concepts.

And author Rebecca J. Allen ran a workshop on Work-for-Hire: Getting Your Foot in the Publishing Door.

I hope you find something educational in the links above. For the next newsletter I won't be so wiped out and should have a new blog post for you, on self-rejection and nervousness.

Now it's time for me to take a nap.
