Looking for a virtual writing group?

Happy Monday, writers!

When I moved back to South Africa, I left behind an amazing in-person writing group. (It's still going.) We wound up settling in a rural coastal town, and that's made it really hard to have an in-person writing community.

But now the whole world is self-isolating, and everyone's looking for online connections. I am so here for this! I'm now part of a several small online groups in Slack and Discord, where we talk writing, run writing sprints, and more. It's been wonderful.

Would you, my readers, like a similar group? In addition to write-ins, sprints, and discussions, I'd be happy to answer questions about the Monster. We could start June 1st with prep for July Camp NaNo, maybe.

This group would be free to participate in, and you'd be welcome to invite writer friends.

Here's a super quick survey if you're interested:

Answer 5 Questions

Depending on the level of interest you may hear from me again before my next regularly scheduled newsletter.

Before I let you go, I've got a recipe that may sound weird at first, but is actually delicious!

Doria is Japanese comfort food, a seafood dish with rice and white sauce and cheese. I made mine with hake, but you can use a variety of substitutes. I really want to try it with prawns. The strange part is the combo of seafood and ketchup. (I mean, shrimp cocktail is one thing, but ketchup?) The ketchup is cooked down and used to flavor the rice just enough to be interesting, and then you get the lovely white sauce and cheese. It was a big hit, and I highly recommend it!

Stay safe, stay well. All the best,
