And now, a Scrivener tip!

Hello, writers!

I hope everybody’s coping with, you know, everything, as well as can be expected. If you’re not that’s okay, too. We don’t have to be superheroes all day, every day.

It’s been a while since I’ve posted one of my Tech Support entries, so it’s about time! Honestly, one reason I’ve held back has been the delayed release of Scrivener 3 for Windows. Every few months I check on how the beta is coming along, and while we’re now in “release candidates” and most reports are positive, the team at Literature & Latte doesn’t think S3 is ready for prime time yet.

Software development takes a long time, sort of like a novel. You have to do a lot of planning up front to avoid pain later, changing one thing sets off a chain of other needed changes and new problems, and someone’s always going to spot a bug or typo post-release.

So I’m trying to be patient. Scrivener still works well for me, even if it’s not as glossy as S3. One day it’ll happen! And then you can expect some kind of delighted review from me.

Today’s tip is small, but makes a big difference in how your compiled manuscript looks. (I have no idea if it still applies in version 3, but it works in older versions of Scrivener.)

I’ve got new stuff in the works, and those who have got their Monster Downloads should look out for a notification of new files added in the next… two weeks? I hope. It keeps getting bumped. Apologies!!

In lieu of goodies, try this Spinach Pesto Penne. It’s been hard to find large quantities of fresh herbs and I’ve been dying for pesto, so decided to try this. The flavor is much lighter than a herb-based pesto, with delicate lemon accents, and umami from the walnuts. Add parm and it’s perfection.

Take care and be well,
