it's the little things

Hi friends!


It's AUGUST! Hard to believe, but it is. As much as I don't want to think about it, Fall is coming, and that brings back school, routines, shorter days, and cozy rhythms.


I thought it would be fun and helpful to do a new series of emails where we discuss common issues, and the little things you can do at home for them. (I see you, my DIYers.) We'll talk about pelvic floor issues, foot issues, and whole body issues as well as specifics on pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Of course this won't be medical advice, but helpful tools you can store away for when you need them.

If you know me, you know I recommend seeing qualified professionals (like pelvic PTs, mental health therapists, chiros, etc.) and refer out often, but I also know that seeing professionals takes time, money, and a lot of us want to know the steps we can take on our own to see if we can help improve things before going to see someone about it.


I also know that many of you want to take responsibility for your own health and this series will be a great piece of that puzzle.


In this upcoming series, we'll be covering these groups of topics - lots of them we haven't talked about in depth before, so we'll do one specific topic each week. We'll start out with the Pelvic Floor Conditions category.


Pelvic Floor Conditions:

  • Hemorrhoids
  • Constipation
  • Endometriosis and painful periods
  • Leaking urine when you don't want to
  • Pain: Vulvodynia, Vaginismus, and Vestibulodynia, and Dyspareunia
  • Prolapse


Foot Issues:

  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • Bunions
  • Transitioning to minimal footwear


Full body issues:

  • Getting movement in when you have to work at a desk
  • Building strength in a mindful way
  • Restoring the deep squat, hip & ankle mobility
  • Giving your body the nourishment it needs
  • Osteoporosis


Pregnancy, Birth, and Postpartum

  • Pelvic pain during pregnancy
  • Comfort measures for labor
  • Diastasis recti
