[reko.day] The reko.day Beta is here! 📱🎉

Sep 29, 2023 2:05 pm

Happy Friday,

I have pushed out the beta version of reko.day to the bold folks who have volunteered to test it out.

So what does that mean? If you want to check out the app before anyone else, now is the time. I will fix up the issues they find, add the last little bit in, and then it will go live!

Some folks have suggested a launch party, which is brilliant and something I think we should totally do, but I don't have any smarts for things like that, so I'm going to leave it to my friends and family to make it happen. My job will be to get this app ready.

Here's what you can do.

  1. Sign up for the beta!
  2. Scout out locations where a reko (Meetup to pick up your produce order).

I'm going to put a few notes here about how the beta process works. First, the app only works on iPhones right now. Second, the beta test happens through an Apple product called TestFlight. So when you click the link, you'll be directed to Apple's information on how to use TestFlight to access the beta test of reko.day. Follow their instructions, and you'll get the app.

There are three ways you can give me feedback. First, is to email me at ryan@reko.day. Second, you can send feedback through the TestFlight app. Third, you can also send feedback right inside of reko.day. Just click on your account button in the top right, and you'll see an option to send me feedback.

What kind of feedback do I want? Well, everything! But if that's too broad, let me ask you a few questions that you can answer in your feedback.

  • Is this an app intuitive for you to use?
  • Did it work the way you expect?
  • What confuses you?
  • What are you looking for that you can't find?
  • If you could have me fix/add/change one thing, what would it be?
  • Is this an app you'd tell your friends about?

This is important! Please read the following information about how payments work during the beta test.

reko.day has two parts in the application that involve payment. The first is subscriptions. This is in test mode and will not charge you. When you subscribe, you should see that in the little sheet that slides up.

The second part is how you purchase an order. If you're nervous about this at all, choose "Pay There," and you'll avoid everything. If you want to see what it's like to "Pay Now," DO NOT PUT YOUR CREDIT CARD IN. Instead, use a test card with the number 4242 4242 4242 4242 with any expiration and any CVV.

Sincerely,

Ryan
