[reko.day] One Thing Apps Like DoorDash Changed

Happy Friday!
One of the best things about apps like DoorDash, GrubHub, or Uber Eats is that you can browse all of the restaurants and their menus in your area very easily.
Want tacos? Just look search for them across all the restaurants near you.
That's exactly what Reko Day will do too. Make it easy to see everything that is locally grown and made in your area.
Before DoorDash and all of these apps came around, figuring out what restaurants were nearby and what they had on their menu was a pain. You could look on things like Google Maps, and hopefully, they had a website with a menu. But there would also be plenty of restaurants without menus or listings on the map at all. For those, you'd have to drive around or make calls or open a drawer full of flyers that get left on your car or house.
This meant that even after all of that, you'd see only a fraction of what was available.
How do people find out about local produce? Farmer's markets, the rare farm with an online presence, and word of mouth. That's pretty much it.
In other words, most of us do not know how much food is available because there isn't a good way to find out about it.
Reko Day is built to make finding local fruits, vegetables, and more as easy as browsing DoorDash on your phone.
I will be releasing a new beta version of the app soon. Reply to this email if you want to be one of the testers.
Sincerely,
Ryan
