Big App Update!

Happy Friday,
Let's get into the updates this week. What I really want to talk about in this email is a bit about what goes on behind the scenes as I'm building this app.
Since I have a full-time job, I can only put around 12 hours a week into this. I wish I could do more, but that's not in the cards right now. At the same time, I'm pleased with my progress, and I hope you are too!
I started development on December 15th, and since then, I've done the following:
- Created 92 commits (saved chunks of work)
- Written 4298 lines of code
- Prototyped 3 different backend systems
- Added location awareness and address completion
- Secured authentication
- Set up my business with Apple
- Set up Stripe as a payment provider
- Implemented most of a brand-new design
- Re-worked whole screens of my application multiple times
Building a software product is a lot of work, and in that work, a lot of it is thinking and tinkering. Sometimes things work smoothly, and sometimes they really don't.
Yesterday is a good example. I was setting up the stuff to save images and then display them. I thought this would be quick work, but it took me multiple days. It turned out that there was a bug in the Google code I was using, and there was a secret requirement that wasn't documented that kept me hitting my head against a wall.
Once I got past those two things, I had saving and displaying images working within about two hours. It took days of working through unpredictable issues.
Anyway, please watch the video and let me know what you think!
At the rate things are moving, I'm hoping to open the application up to early testers soon. If you're interested in that, send me an email, and I can add you to the list!
Sincerely,
Ryan
