In honour of my father…

Dear ,

Six years ago, I lost my father to cancer. Lost is a relative term, though — I am still deeply connected to him. People still see me and see him. In the early days, they would falter when they looked at me, angry at the reminder of his absence, then steady themselves again. Now, we’ve all learned to live with his absence, and life has become a little easier.

His birthday is coming up in just over three weeks. And while time has passed, the truth is — grief doesn’t follow a calendar. It still finds me in unexpected ways: in quiet moments, in memories, in the ache of milestones he isn’t here to witness.

If you’ve lost someone dear, you know this feeling.

This year, instead of letting that day pass in silence, I want to honour my father by helping others who are walking their own road of loss.

That’s why I’m relaunching my program, Life Is Just for Living: Coping with Death, Trauma, and Loss — a 21‑day guided journey to help you release the heaviest parts of grief and make space for peace, connection, and even moments of joy.

It’s the program I wish had existed when I was in the depths of my own grief.

I’ll be opening enrollment in the coming days — and if you’ve been carrying grief that feels too heavy, I would love for you to join me.

You don’t have to do this alone.

With care,

Dr. Sandra Hamilton
