They tried to break you. You’re still here.

Jun 04, 2025 12:01 pm

,

They wanted you small.

Quiet. Grateful for scraps. Apologizing for taking up space.

They wanted you to believe their version of who you are—worthless, damaged, too much, not enough.

But Guess What?

You’re still breathing.

And that unsettles them more than you know.

I know because I’ve been there.

Sitting in the dark, staring at the wall, wondering if the ache in my chest would ever stop. Crying inside. Not knowing who I could trust to talk to.

Wondering if I was actually crazy like they said.

Wondering if I deserved what happened.

Spoiler alert: I didn’t. And neither do you.

But here’s what they don’t tell you about surviving hell: it doesn’t just make you strong.

It makes you dangerous.

Dangerous to their narrative.

Dangerous to their control.

Dangerous to anyone who tries to dim your light ever again.

The Rage Stage is Sacred

Everyone wants you to “heal” and “move on” and be all zen and forgiving.

Let’s be real—that’s not where you are right now.

Your rage is holy. Your fury is fuel. That fire in your belly that makes you want to burn down everything that ever made you feel small?

I'm all smiles here becasue , that’s your power awakening.

Don’t apologize for it.

I spent years trying to be the “good survivor”—grateful, positive, inspiring.

All while my soul was screaming for justice. For recognition. For someone to say:

“What happened to you was wrong, and you have every right to be furious about it.”

So here it is. I'll tell you:

What happened to you was wrong. And you have every right to be furious about it.

Your Scars Are Your Superpowers

While they were busy trying to break you, something else was happening.

You were developing an intuition that cuts through lies at fifty paces.

You were building resilience that would make Navy SEALs weep.

You were cultivating a truth-detector so sharp it should come with a warning label.

Every boundary they trampled taught you exactly where your lines are now.

Every lie they told you made you a human compass for truth. And,

every time they tried to gaslight you, you learned to trust your own knowing.

They created their own worst nightmare. That's YOU! A survivor who knows their worth.

, The Arena is Calling

There are two types of people in this world:

Those who stay safe on the sidelines, throwing judgment and unsolicited advice, and those who step into the arena, bruised, scarred, and absolutely magnificent.

The sideline people will tell you to “let it go” and “think positive” and “everything happens for a reason.” I used to be that person too.

BUT

The arena people know better.

We know that some things are absolutely unforgivable. ... and as a therapist and in the field of education too, I've heard tales of horror that would make Dracula blush.

We know that healing doesn’t mean pretending it was okay.

We know that sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is set a boundary so fierce it could cut glass.

We know that your darkness doesn’t only need to be healed. It needs to be weaponized for good.

Your Liberation is Their Worst Fear

Now is the time to stand in your power.

Every day you choose yourself over their programming is an act of rebellion.

Every boundary you set is a defiant stand against their control.

Every time you trust your own voice over their conditioning, you’re rewriting the rules.

They’re terrified of what you become when you remember who you really are.

And you’re starting to remember.

I see you there, reading this, feeling that familiar fire in your chest. A recognition. Your soul recognizing its own battle cry. Do not be broken by what happened to you. Become forged like the sharpest steel blade.

Like a sword in fire, shaped by pressure and heat into something that can cut through anything.

The Warrior is Rising

I don’t know what your next move is.

Maybe you don’t either.

But I know this: you didn’t survive all that to play small now.

You didn’t crawl through hell to whisper when you get to the other side.

Your voice matters. Your story matters. Your healing matters.

And anyone who tries to convince you otherwise can get comfortable being wrong.

This is your invitation to stop surviving and start leading.

The crown was always yours. They just convinced you it belonged to someone else. It's time to take it back.

All honour to the warriors who refused to stay broken.

You know who you are.

And it’s time the world knew too.

The question isn't whether you're ready. The question is : are THEY ready for what you're about to become?

With fierce regard,

Dr Sandra Hamilton
