Week 8 Preparedness Challenge: Strengthen Your Home Security

image

Your home is your safe haven, and in an emergency, it should be as secure as possible. This week, we’ll focus on reinforcing your home security to protect against potential threats, whether from natural disasters, power outages, or other emergencies.

Week Eight Focus: Improve Your Home Security.

  • Task: Assess your home’s security measures. Install or check locks on doors and windows, add motion sensor lights, and consider security cameras or alarm systems.
  • Tip: Have an emergency plan for home defense and train family members on safety protocols. Keep emergency supplies like flashlights and self-defense tools accessible.

Key notes: Keep in mind that sometimes it is more important to Bug Out than it is to protect. A question to add to this is... Have you painted a target on your home? OPSEC stands for operational security and means don't tell others what you have. This and other mistakes can seriously impact your security.
