How To Build Resillience For Your Fitness

there’s a reason why airplanes have baggage restrictions. If we are allowed to bring whatever we wanted on board trust me no plane will fly. The restrictions are there to protect us, without them I’m certain we will record a lot more crashes than we currently do due to overly heavy planes.

Usually we consider restrictions as a negative thing, we see them as freedom stealers but imagine a world without restrictions (rules), imagine there were no red lights on the roads and drivers were allowed to discern for themselves whether or not to give way to another driver. I imagine a pretty chaotic world, much more than we are currently experiencing.

It’s exactly the same with healthy eating. There are certain foods that are advised to restrict their intake, and there are others that are recommended that we consume in abundance. These “restrictions” are there for your safety because there some foods that serve your body better than others. Lets’s take sugar for instance, very sweet to consume, trust me if consumed without restraints can lead to several health challenges.

When I make a decision to limit the consumption of something because of it’s potential harm to my body I feed it through the eyes of this mindset, because when I connect my decision making to a greater, more beneficial why then I am likely to accept it as a good thing rather than a restriction.

Don’t see cutting down refined sugar or refined carbohydrates as freedom stealers, don’t see eating more whole foods and less processed foods as restrictions instead see them as habits that will curb the potential chaos that would come as a result of eating anything you like without consideration of the nutritional value.

I will leave you with one of the most popular quotes about food

“Let food be thy medicine and thy medicine food”

I hope this helps…
