I hope everyone had a Happy Easter!
Though the Easter Bunny
Spring's really been shy this year, but I think it's finally starting to stick. Days are getting warmer here, even if they're still pretty windy. Driving my allergies pretty nuts, but I think I'll survive.
I've been busy, at work, with the family (cheer competition season as some of you might've noticed), and writing when I can. I'd been hoping to have my current project done by now, but it's almost there. It's a Fallen World novel titled The Guilted Cage, set twenty years after the events in my short story "Blue Falcon", which debuted in Among The Embers.
On the day the world ended, a Teledyne pilot is launched with a flight of bombers to destroy a city. He has no idea why the city is being bombed and not nuked, but orders are orders. The only problem–it’s the city where he went to school, found his true love, and got married. The greatest moments of his life happened in the city he’s ordered to destroy.
The world has Fallen, but life goes on…
In the late 2020’s and early 30’s corporations managed to render the major governments of the world obsolete. The big corporations owned most of the territories as well as the majority of the world’s wealth. While many of the old traditions were still observed in various parts of the world, the true power was with the corporations.
In the late 30’s, what would be known as the Corporate Wars began as larger companies initiated hostile takeovers in a whole new fashion. Employees, armed with corporate weapons, warred for dominance. It was a bloody time, and many small corporations were destroyed, as were a lot of civilians in the wrong place at the wrong time… as well as those who’d been buying the wrong products.
On May 1st, 2067, it all ended in nuclear fire.
Fifteen outstanding authors have come to this Fallen World with stories that take place from the islands off the coast of Massachusetts to the California coast; from the swamps of Louisiana to the mountains of Colorado. These stories not only show you the Fall… but introduce you to some of the people who might just drag civilization back from the embers…

Next up, the audio for Mess With the Bull is out!
In the Galactic Union, few Human corporations are as storied or as well-known as the Intergalactic Haulers. But the Haulers are no more—victims of Peepo and her minions at the start of the Omega War. Now, her followers seek to destroy the Intergalactic Haulers’ more secretive counterpart—Bull and his black ops rescue company. Yet, this is only one part of a larger story:
A Human mercenary unit is trapped and abandoned—betrayed like so many others at the start of the Omega War;
Another mercenary unit is captured and given a choice—fight for its captors or die;
A Hunter and her companion—her former target—follow a path of vengeance; and
Earth’s first Peacemaker becomes aware of the shadow that’s loomed over her shoulder for most of her life.
All of these forces are on a collision path which intersects within the walls of a vast arcology on a faraway planet. The Veetanho masterminds conspire to crush all of the Human forces, with no concern for the destruction they’ll cause, but Bull—like always—has a plan. Sooner or later, though, his luck is going to run out. Will his strategies and tactics once again be enough to carry the day, allowing him to rescue the remaining Humans, or will they all be just more casualties of Veetanho vengeance?

The latest from Jo Boone's The Combined Service series--
Trapped in no man’s land on an alien world.
When the Combined Service Cruiser Magnetar travels to the avian colony world of Elaninae to take delivery of a shuttle with classified technology, no one anticipates trouble. But Elaninae’s avians are dying of an unknown cause, and a traitor aboard the Magnetar thinks that Charlie and her friend, Bosun’s Mate William Wiley, may hold the key to a cure. Charlie and Wiley are invited to the planet’s surface only to find themselves trapped there. And they’ll have to escape on their own, once the Magnetar’s own crew begin to fall victim to the contagion.
Elsewhere, the avian Captain Ceyx arrives at Sol Gateway looking for the octopod terrorist Praetori. Praetori, too, may have answers the avians need. But Ceyx has his own agenda and his own methods, and he has trained his predator’s eye on one vulnerable human who might have information he needs: Jawaharlal Darad.
As Captain Chalk and the rest of the Magnetar’s crew scramble to find a cure for the avian plague and recover their missing crew, an avian battle group arrives with a sinister purpose. Charlie finds herself trapped in no man’s land, with a shooting war about to begin, and no way to get home. Will she get free in time, or will she find herself dead…again?
