On to the fun, exciting news. There's actually a little too much, so I'll try to go quick.

First up, in the last newsletter I mentioned FantaSci! It was a blast. Good people, good panels, a visit to the Baen Books offices, and I was Sergeant at Arms at the Dining Out. image

I followed that trip up with a drive to and from Las Vegas for the weekend to fulfill cheer husband and cheer dad duties. Saw the Red Carpet for the Grammy's, watched the fountains at the Bellagio, and had some good food. Also, our hotel was also sponsoring the ADCC submission fighting challenge competition and the National Chimney Sweep Guild conference (I'm not joking). I had visions of chimney sweeps starting a rumble with the submission fighters while the cheerleaders did routines in support of both. I might have to work that into a story someday. Hmmm...

My next quick hit, we've got cover art for the next two anthologies I'll be in-

I'll announce their respective releases in mid April and early May.

My biggest news, Witch Hunt is a finalist for the Imadjinn Awards!image

Witch me luck! (sorry, could not resist that one)

Fun prelude to my next release announcement-- the author, J.F. Posthumus was the cover model for my novel Witch Hunt, and she reprised the role at FantaSci, which makes her my first official cosplayer. I'm not sure what the rules are regarding cover models cosplaying themselves, but I'm not gonna overthink it. I had a cosplayer!!

Which leads me to Jennie's latest news, the release of her latest:

When Raziel, the Angel of Mysteries, shows up at Catherine’s door, she knows nothing good will come from letting him in. She’s proven correct when she’s tricked into summoning the spirit of a deceased demon to help clear an innocent’s name.

Not only was Kevin Daniels a demon, but he was a keeper of the Staff of Chaos. A powerful artifact capable of destroying anything and anyone. Including the ever-thinning Veils. And it’s been stolen.

With only a few suspects, all demons, and little time, Catherine must locate the Staff before it’s used. To make matters worse, all sorts of chaos is occurring: from fights with her friends, to a furious purple-headed Minotaur bent on destruction. No one is safe from the influence of the Staff.

Can she locate the Staff of Chaos before it’s used? And even if she gets the Staff back, how will she repair the damage done to the Veils without sacrificing her life to do so?

Finally, Abner Fortis has returned!

Peace in Our Time!

After human and Maltaani forces cooperated to rescue the hostages being held by slavers on the icy planet of Menard-Kev, leaders on both sides agreed that peace between the races was desirable. A treaty was signed, and embassies were established.

Unrest between the Maltaani royalists, who rule their home planet, and their nationalist subjects—already at a low boil—intensifies with the establishment of the Terran embassy in the Maltaani capital city of Daarben, and, when a report is released stating that humans and Maltaani are of the same genetic stock, things are pushed to the breaking point. In the midst of this unrest, the Galactic Resource Conglomerate is operating in the shadows, completing deals that are sure to only push things further toward catastrophe.

With the security situation in the capital worsening, First Lieutenant Abner Fortis, now the executive officer of Lima Company, is ordered to establish a forward operating base at the spaceport near Daarben and stand by to assist the embassy in whatever way they need.

But, with things already falling apart, will Lima Company’s presence help keep the peace, or will they cause an international incident that finally pushes everything over the edge?
