One of the friendly, feral donkeys of St. John.
Well, 2021 happened. To those of you who might be stuck in snow or a house with no power or both, you have my best wishes that things clear up quickly.
I've seen mention that so far into 2022 some have already seen winter, spring, summer, and fall over the course of these first few days.
Personally, I'm hoping that means that 2022 is just running a refresh cycle to reset things. It sure would be nice.
I had some decent holidays, personally. The family skipped Christmas this year and went down to the Caribbean for a few days. Our elves came along and Santa found us and gave us a few nice surprises. Otherwise, it was a nice, chill, relaxing holiday season.
We came home just before New Years and spent two days on a Spider-Man movie marathon to get the kids caught up for No Way Home. If you haven't seen it, you should. It was pretty awesome.
Onto book news.
First off, my Fallen Empire short story, the lead in to my Fallen Empire novel with Cannon Publishing, is available for pre-release in the Overrun anthology.
The Grausian Interstellar Empire has fallen and the ruins are for the taking. In the Twenty Seventh Century that means whoever can field the best military, and on the DMZ worlds, that means Private Military Contractors. Five stories that explore the world introduced to great acclaim and rave reviews in “The Irish Brigade”.
My story is "Milk Run": A Terran Marine Corps Search and Rescue Unit reforms after the war as Field Extraction and Recovery Services, the FXRS "Fixers", to ply their trade as mercenaries. Along the way they learn the hard truth about loyalty, lives and money and which one means more to the bottom line.

Next, I know I've been pushing this one constantly, but the print version is finally out. The audiobook should be soon to follow.
The tale of the Marines of Special Unit 13 in the dawn of the Civil War. As the Union Navy fights to blockade southern ports, the predecessors of JTF-13 fight the unseen evil, following a mysterious white witch from Roanoke Island, St. Augustine, and into New Orleans. As much a history of the Marines in the Civil War as it is a tale of early military monster hunters.

Have you been following the Murphy's Lawless Series? You should be, especially if you're a fan of Charles Gannon's Caine Riordan series (which you also should be). The latest is the second Murphy's Lawless novella from Mike Massa, a great writer and good friend of mine.
Taken from their planet and their century, they are…the Lost Soldiers.
Marooned on the primitive planet R’Bak in the 55 Tauri B system, the Lost Soldiers have accomplished the impossible: they’ve stolen a transatmospheric cargo hauler and used it to get two squads of troops alongside a Kulsian corvette orbiting the second planet of the system. Now they have to—they absolutely must!—capture it, because if they fail to do so, they lose everything.
Leading the assault is a hard job that will require a hard, dedicated man. Navy SEAL Harry Tapper is that hard man… but dedicated? He was once, but now he’s not so sure. Not at all.
When the Lost Soldiers were hastily roused from cold-sleep, Tapper was indispensable to their initial success. It was he who risked his life among the indigenous peoples. It was he who led raids that captured the Kulsian vehicles which the Lost Soldiers used to expand from a small dirtside FOB into a planet-wide presence. But then Harry married an indig woman, went native, and lost both the commitment and inclination to fight for his former country, or even his home planet.
Can Murphy inspire Tapper to get back into the fight? He’d better, because if he doesn’t, the soldiers that have dubbed themselves “Murphy’s Lawless” aren’t the only ones who will lose everything; it will mean extinction for all their allies—both planetside and spaceside—as well.

Last, but not least, the Eldros Legacy series. Five authors created five continents, tied together into one over-arching tale. Each has developed their own series. It began with Khyven the Unkillable, and continues now with the Legacy of Deceit series by Quincy Allen.
Unholy evil lurks in the shadow of a magical kingdom.
When a duke and his family are butchered in their sleep, a beleaguered king commands his brother Rellen to uncover not only who committed the heinous murders but why. Was it sedition? Political assassination? Or is it the gruesome machinations of a blood-hungry demon goddess and her cult?
