Happy Holidays!

Here are our elves, Elfie and Markle, hanging out amongst some of our favorite lego sets.

I hope everyone's enjoying the holiday season. I know they can be just as stressful as they are magical, so I also hope you're all taking care of yourselves. Here at my house, we're getting ready to travel, which can be tricky these days. If we can just get there, it should be relaxing in the end. The next challenge will be to see if I can get any writing done. My kids' biggest concern is whether our elves are going to follow us to our Christmas destination. I'm sure they will.

First up, my favorite review for Witch Hunt-

"I have pestered my favorite authors for years to write a Civil war era monster Hunter book and lo and behold Moores does it and out does the better known writers of such lore. Good for him! Filled with actual historical characters and accurately described equipment and here he makes his story stand out from the usual fare."

Enough small talk, onto the updates!

The latest and greatest from the Four Horsemen Universe!

When the Mercenary Guild tried to bend the galaxy's deadliest assassins to their will, the Depik shocked the galaxy by choosing mass suicide to enslavement. Only those Depik not present on their home planet of Khatash survived to retreat to the shadows, to plan, to form alliances, to rebuild and look forward to the day when they could retake their home from the Veetanho invaders and exact revenge.

That day has finally come. And this time, the Depik do not stand alone.

Catching up on the best from Three Ravens Publishing, The Raven and the Crow series by Michael K. Falciani:

Two brothers struggling to find their place in the world.

For the elder sibling Kildare, every morning begins with the memory of betrayal. Once governed by the principles of morality, Kildare has become an instrument of blood and steel—where the speed of his sword arm metes out his own brand of justice. Only the strength and resolve of his brother Zedaine keeps him from succumbing to the ever-present rage that burns behind his dark eyes. While employed by the mysterious sage Blade, the pair stumble upon Chameleon, a runaway tribeswoman displaying extraordinary psychic powers. Their meeting, however, is no chance encounter. A riddle Chameleon carries will change not only the future of the three, but the fate of the entire world.

Hundreds of miles away, Macklore, a powerful wizard of Brisbane, has been dispatched to the volatile city of Gallanse. Smitten at the sight of princess Lydia, Macklore defies his orders and finds himself thrust into the middle of a bloody succession. When he openly supports Lydia’s family, he is marked for death by a cult of magi working to raise the psychotic prince Dragomir to the throne. With few allies, Macklore must use his wits and innate magical powers to keep Dragomir from the crown and himself alive.

Racing towards Gallanse, Kildare and Zedaine are torn between saving Macklore’s life, extracting terrible vengeance upon the man responsible for their betrayal.

UP next, the re-release of the Time Wars, by William Alan Webb. He's the author who teaches other authors how to write.imageIn the Jurassic, nobody cares if you scream.

Future America is dangerous and bankrupt. The interstate highways are littered with the rusted hulks of ambushed cars and trucks, and only Mad Max would dare travel the back roads. With society at large failing, the government has embarked on a number of projects to keep its collective head above water.

Like the Manhattan Project and Operation Overtime before it, Operation Timekeeper—the project to build a time travel system for military purposes—has attracted the best and the brightest that still remain in America… as well as the worst and the most psychotic who will do anything to control it.

When the only thing worse than failure occurs, and an operational time travel system is developed, it sparks an arms race with Russia and China, and the body count skyrockets as both patriots and enemies try to hijack the new technology for their own purposes.

But not everyone has given up on the rule of law. In Tennessee, Fayette County D.A. Pete Dance wants to prosecute the murder of a man whose fossilized remains turn up after a series of devastating earthquakes, assuming he can stay alive long enough to do so. The only problem Dance has—besides the assassins on his trail—is that the victim is still alive.

Finally, the debut novel of Michael K. Stoumbos, who I had the honor of being published alongside in the Heart's Enchantment anthology.

Welcome to the Initiative!

A declawed reptilian engineer.

A furry medic concealing her noble heritage.

An insectoid programmed to adore humans.

An overeager human pilot named Lidstrom.

Everyone already knows that the reptiles adapt, the brutes endure, the bugs explore, and the humans… make war. Together, they aim for a fresh start with a brave new venture: the Interstellar Initiative, the galaxy’s best hope for peace, cooperation, and rewriting some nasty first impressions.

Unfortunately, this human-led venture is off to a rocky start. Tensions run high, and the species enrolled in the Initiative’s Academy are only a few mistranslations from tearing each other apart. They’ll have to learn to work together quickly, though, or an uninvited guest will destroy them all first.
