Earlier this week I shared 3 ways you can be assertive AND kind at the same time.


Do you agree?


Let me expand on what it means to be Assertive & Kind:


  • You speak honestly about what you need with the important people in your life.
  • You concisely say what is not OK with your friends, family, and work colleagues in a clear and calm manner.
  • You address issues head on instead of ruminating.
  • You look for a mutual understanding in a disagreement, rather than needing to "win" or be "right".
  • You use "I" language when you feel emotional
  • You trust your gut instinct in the moment.
  • You think about how the other person feels but you don't let it prevent you from saying what is important for you to say.
  • You ask for what you are truly worth at work.
  • You have clear boundaries.
  • You know how to protect yourself from a toxic person.
