Howdy ,
As a child, I heard about Disneyland and Disney World. They sounded like amazing, fun places. However, we lived a long way away from them, so they weren't places that we were ever going to visit.
In the area I grew up, there weren't any places like that, with rides and shows.
I'm sure my older siblings (1) would have enjoyed going on the rides. They would have gone on the scariest roller coasters (2) and thought it was fun. But rides like those aren't for me. I don't want to go from side to side, then upside down (3), all at a super fast speed. I'm scared of heights, and I also hate crazy, chaotic motion (4).
When I was about twenty, I visited a place with three or four theme parks. They were like Disney World, but they were a lot smaller. Although I was a bit old for some of the things I saw, I still had a great time. The shows were fun to watch, and there were enough things for me to do.
However, I definitely didn't go on any of the roller coasters! I think the people I was with did, but I just watched.
Then a few years later, I went back to those theme parks with my sister, who is years younger than I am. She had never been to a place like that, and I was happy to go again and guide her around.
We had a fantastic time. We watched 3D movies, looked at animals that didn't live in our area, and laughed and cheered (5) at the live shows.
Although she wasn't interested in going on the roller coasters, there were a couple of other rides that she wanted to try. They weren't super scary, but they were still things I wouldn't normally do. The trouble was, she didn't want to go on them by herself.
So I went on them with her. And I survived! I'll never really like rides like that, but those ones weren't so bad.
Do you like going to theme parks, ? Are (or were) you a fan of roller coasters and other scary rides?
I hope your week is super smooth, not like a roller coaster ride!

(1) siblings - general word for brothers and sisters
(2) roller coaster - a ride where you go left and right and up and down (often completely upside down) while travelling really fast
(3) upside down - so the bottom of something is at the top and the top side is at the bottom
(4) motion - movement
(5) to cheer - to shout and clap when something good happens e.g. when you are at the football and your team scores a goal you cheer
