šŸ›µ Are you ready for cold rides?

Oct 23, 2021 7:01 pm

Hey !

Can you believe itā€™s fall? Already?! I may be late to that party, but we had a cold front on the hot & humid Texas coast that made me realize I didn't have my gear out for this!

Seeing pumpkin šŸŽƒ spice overload should have got me clued into this back in late Augustā€¦.

Anyhow, I can handle the heat when riding, but I find it tough to stay warm!

Here are 3 things I can't ride without when it's cold šŸ„¶:

  • Great gloves šŸ§¤
  • Base layers šŸ§„
  • Neck warmer šŸ§£

Got any favs you have to have to stay toasty-ish when riding?

I used to endurance run šŸƒā€ā™€ļø, but all that means is that I have lightweight base layers that make for great scooter šŸ›µ gear layers when the temps fall. I encourage you to dig through what you have if you have some outdoor gear hiding in your closet that can double up as warmth under your protective gear.

Oh & I'm considering looking into heated grips, so I'd love your feedback if you've tried them out.

Hit reply and let me know.

I'm also in the process of updating the article I wrote on staying warm during my first season into riding if you need more ideas. I'll also take feedback if you have additional thoughts to help your fellow scooter enthusiasts. Or even thoughts on at what temp you just won't ride in.

I was research heavy but experience light on this one originally. I'm a Texas winter rider for what that's worth with a few more years of experience under my belt, but I realize I have a long way (geographic + years) to say I'm an authority on cold weather riding (or anything for that matter lol)!

Be seen & be safe, scooter friend! ā™„
