Why Talented People Fail: 6 Common Mental Traps and How to Avoid Them
Hey ,
This is one topic I've been holding myself back from talking about for some time.
But as I bring Season 1 of The Dayo Samuel Report podcast to a close, I think it's time to talk about it.
Talented people who have varied interests, skills, and talents feel really blessed, but sometimes these qualities can create obstacles.
Obstacles that grow so big that they suck out the life that feeds the skills, talents, passions, and interests we possess.
Some of these questions have bothered me for a long time since I became intimately aware of my multi-passionate tendencies:
What's wrong with being a generalist?
What holds us back from being truly great?
Why does a polymath tend to struggle more than other people?
A few answers I've identified:
1. Not Creating Anything Original
2. Always Learning, Never Doing
3. Overconfidence that makes us careless
4. Lack of clarity
5. Prioritisation
6. Fear
The list goes on.
Tomorrow, let’s talk about some challenges multi-skilled professionals like you and I face and how we can overcome them.
I'm doing a livestream at 5 PM (GMT+1) tomorrow, Sunday, May 19, 2024.
This is the last episode of the season of the podcast, so come with your questions.
If there's any subject or topic you've been meaning to ask me about since being a part of my community here, tomorrow, I'll be answering it.
I'll actually really love to see you there, .
Live courageously,
Dayo Samuel 💯
In other news, I'm doing a Canva for Business Growth Workshop at Leicester on Saturday, 25th. If you're around London, Birmingham, Peterborough, and environs, come let's catch up. This is a physical event.
