1) Job & Life. Pas facile de trouver une mission de freelance, je commence à me dire de repasser salarié. On verra. Aussi: je cherche un logement en colocation sur l’Est de Bruxelles,max 550€ tout compris, on va dire dès le 1er mars ou 1er avril. Déménager après 9 ans dans la même chambre à Etterbeek demande une réorganisation.

2) Festivals: Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival (VIMFF)

La tournée VIMFF.be arrive à Bruxelles les 16, 17 et 18 mars. Achetez vos billets! Je serai l'hôte qui présentera la soirée. Il y a aussi un rassemblement "apéro des voyageurs" pour discuter des idées de voyage ou d'expédition le samedi 18 mars de 17 à 19h.

3) MeetExplorers / Films / Conférences

J’ai fait un site web temporaire pour ma boîte de Prod: MeetExplorers Productions. Vous y retrouvez le détails sur les films terminés et en cours, plus tard sur ma tournée de conférence The Mad Belgian et les autres futurs événement comme le BRAFF et le BRIMFF ainsi que sur un futur cours en ligne pour comprendre l’écosystème Aventure-Exploration-Expéditions.

Je termine également la page bio de mon site où j’ajoute tous les détails du “comment je suis devenu aventurier”. La question me revient souvent et la réponse est longue donc plus facile d’aller lire un texte bien structuré et je n’oublie rien.

4) Dans les Médias

En Septembre 2022 j’ai passé tous les castings pour participer au jeu de téléréalité The Squid Game Challenge. Je n’ai finalement pas été retenu par “NetFlix”. Je me suis inscrit pour 2 raisons: le prix du vainqueur à $4.5 millions et participer c’est une probabilité d’être vu par plus de 500 millions de personnes. J’ai expliqué le processus du casting dans la DH suite à un article polémique sur les conditions de tournage du premier jour.

J’ai fait ma première couverture de magazine. Le FOKUS Outdoor était inséré ce mercredi en supplément dans le journal METRO. Tout est dispo dans la section PRESSE de mon site.

J’ai fait l’émission podcast BEHAVED (Anvers) en Flamand.

5) Expéditions et Challenges

Je suis enfin en contact avec la ville de Bruxelles pour faire le défi Confined in My Tent 2 au parc du cinquantenaire à Bruxelles. Je dois remplir la demande de permis et surtout trouver la grue d’une entreprise proche de Bruxelles.

J’ai publié le parcours du BBC (Bike Belgium Challenge), ce défi de traversée de la Belgique à vélo en 36 heures sur sa plus longue diagonale.

J’espère à l’automne gravir le Kilamandjaro et j’ai préparé la base d’une expédition à travers les Alpes en autonomie cet été si je n’ai pas de job.

6) Divers

Jane Goodall Institute: Venez planter des arbres lors du Forest in One Day du Jane Goodall Institute Belgium. La date est le dimanche 5 Mars à Genk.

TinySpace: c’est le nom final que j’ai trouvé pour cette remorque légère “TinyHouse” vide et donc multifonction d’une superficie de 6m². J’espère avoir un modèle en 3D d’ici la prochaine newsletter.

1) Job & Life. It's not easy to find a freelance job, I'm starting to tell myself to become a salaried employee again. We'll see. Also: I'm looking for a shared apartment in the East of Brussels, max 550€ all included, let's say from the 1st of March or 1st of April. Moving after 9 years in the same room in Etterbeek requires some organization.

2) Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival (VIMFF)

The VIMFF.be tour arrives in Brussels on 16,17 and 18 March. Get your tickets before it’s sold out. I’ll be the host presenting the evening. There is also a gathering “apéro des voyageurs” to discuss travel or expedition ideas on Saturday 18 March from 17 to 19h.

3) MeetExplorers / Movies / Conferences

I made a temporary website for my production company: MeetExplorers Productions. You can find details about the finished and ongoing movies, later about my conference tour The Mad Belgian and other future events like BRAFF and BRIMFF as well as about a future online course to understand the Adventure-Exploration-Expeditions ecosystem.

I'm also finishing the bio page of my website where I'm adding all the details of "how I became an adventurer". The question often comes back to me and the answer is long so it's easier to read a well structured text and I don't forget anything.

4) In the Media

In September 2022 I passed all the castings to participate in the reality game The Squid Game Challenge. I was finally not selected by "NetFlix". I signed up for 2 reasons: the winner's prize is 4.5 million dollars and to participate is a probability of being seen by more than 500 million people. I explained the casting process in the DH following a controversial article about the shooting conditions on the first day.

I made my first magazine cover. The FOKUS Outdoor was inserted this Wednesday as a supplement in the METRO newspaper. Everything is available in the PRESS section of my website.

I did the BEHAVED podcast in Flemish.

5) Expeditions and Challenges

I am finally in contact with the city of Brussels to do the Confined in My Tent 2 challenge at the Cinquantenaire Park in Brussels. I have to fill in the permit application and especially find the crane of a company close to Brussels.

I published the route of the BBC (Bike Belgium Challenge), this challenge to cross Belgium by bike in 36 hours on its longest diagonal.

I hope to climb Kilamanjaro in the fall and I prepared the basis for an unsupported expedition Alps crossing this summer if I don't have a job.

6) Miscellaneous

Jane Goodall Institute: Come and plant trees during the Forest in One Day of the Jane Goodall Institute Belgium. The date is Sunday March 5th in Genk.

TinySpace: that's the final name I came up with for this empty and therefore multifunctional lightweight "TinyHouse" trailer with a surface of 6m². I hope to have a 3D model by the next newsletter.
