Wow! What a trippy ride!
Hi ,
Have you ever read a book that feels less like words on a page and more like a wicked rollercoster ride. It's not just the ups and downs, it's the tunnels and scary house of horrors.
That's what Stephen King's Dark Tower books feels like.
It's series that has a heavy focus on character and leans on themes of destiny, harnessing vices into virtues and the power of the collective. But how he weaves it all together is quite masterful.
And why mention this?
Because I'm always searching for the next work to blow my mind. And out of all the work I've read and will read, it's the ones that are powerfully moving that I remember the most.
I know there's stories you've read that are close to your heart too. Any specific genre? Or is it more about the characters?
It's true to say that I intimately know some fictional people more than I do real people. (Think I inadevertently advertised my shameful life a little too much there).
There's a host of books you can check out that cover sci-fi and fantasy I've got here for you. It's a mixture of different stories and themes that might just hold your next favourite read.
And a special shout-out to a fantastic story that pulls together excellent sci-fi elements and romance. There are few authors who can pool this mixture together successfully and Sapphire Winters is one of them. Let me know what you think.
I've now moved on to a heralded classic that's been on my TBR for far too long. Hyperion.
Let me know what you're reading and the work that you love the most.
Have a great read!
