Dear ,

I hope wherever you are, you're enjoying the solstice. Here in the UK, the weather has finally turned warm, and it's starting to feel summery. This season of change reflects the exciting transformations happening with my book journey.

The last fortnight has passed both quickly and excruciatingly slowly. After the cover reveal for The Discovery of Magic, I could finally set up the Amazon sales page. For 72 hours, I eagerly watched for it to appear, and yes, Amazon took the full 72 hours. With that set up, I could claim an author page on various other platforms, and finally add The Duty of Magic to Goodreads. I now feel like an official author!

With the Amazon sales page live, I could also set up Advance Reader Copies (ARCs). If you missed my special email last week, ARCs are still available on StoryOrigin, Booksprout, and Bookfunnel (via email). I've also joined BookSirens, though no claims from there yet! Many thanks to the speedy readers who have already posted a review – Trevor T. O'Brien on The Discovery of Magic and Stacey Markle on The Duty of Magic. It’s reassuring to know all my efforts haven’t been in vain and people can enjoy my work. These reviews will also be pivotal in tempting new readers, especially on launch day.

Setting up these sites has kept me in a whirlwind of activity, so I'm glad I have a few months before the launch date. The e-book will be out on September 26th, and I'm currently preparing the paperback version. Interestingly, I learned that US paperbacks are often 6 x 9 inches, while most of the UK paperbacks on my bookshelf are 5 x 8 inches. These little details make self-publishing an adventure!

As always with my fortnightly updates, here are some free books that you may enjoy:
