This story follows Torvia, a sharp-tongued royal guard trainee with dangerous magic and zero patience for being told who to become. It’s a tale of ambition, loyalty, and how one wrong move could cost her everything.

I never expected the cover for a darker book to be just as beautiful as The Discovery of Magic, but that’s what this series is all about: nothing is more dangerous than the beauty that deceives. The door hints at the journey Torvia’s about to take, and I couldn’t ask for a better entry point to the world of The Intrigue of Magic.
