The Beginning Of Your Fitness Journey.

Alright, it’s time to kick off the first chapter of your lifestyle level-up.

Are you ready? You’ve already got the mindset in check, so let’s set the tone to stay consistent with everything I’m going to teach you.

Without a good gym and some basic gear, it’s easy to lose motivation and quit before you even get started. Let’s make sure you’re set up for success from the start with some tools, resources, and tips for choosing the right gym.

Beginner’s Tools & Resources

Nutrition Apps (Optional)

  • Best Paid: Macrofactor – My top choice for tracking macros.

  • Best Free: MyFitnessPal – Works well in its free version.

Tripod

Recording yourself is one of the best ways to learn proper form. Grab a cheap tripod on Amazon (around $30) to make it easy and hassle-free.

Gym Bag

A good gym bag keeps everything organized and makes going to the gym easier. Mine’s a bit pricey but worth every penny.

Lifting Shoes

Serious about lifting? Get shoes with a raised heel and flat sole for better movement quality. I use these and love them.

Water Bottle

Don’t waste money on bottled water. I use a $6 Gatorade bottle that works perfectly.

Shaker Bottle

For quick protein shakes on the go, a shaker bottle is a must. I use this simple, effective classic.

Good Headphones

Gym music isn’t great—get headphones that stay in your ears. I use these with ear loops, so they never fall out. Total game-changer.

Now that you’ve got the gear, it’s time to find the right gym—one you actually want to go to.

Here’s how to make that process easier:

Tips for Choosing the Right Gym

Tip #1: Friendly, Member-Focused Staff

If the staff greets you by name and seems genuinely welcoming, they’ve already beaten 90% of gyms in customer service. If the only time they use your name is when you sign the contract, they probably don’t care if you ever come back. Find a gym that values you.

Tip #2: Up-to-Date and Well-Maintained

If the gym smells bad or has rusty equipment, it’s a no-go. Ask these questions during a tour:

  1. How often do they check and maintain the equipment?
  2. What’s the typical repair response time?
  3. When was the last time they updated the equipment?

If their answers aren’t good, find another gym.

Tip #3: Prioritize Convenience

The closer the gym is to your daily routine, the more likely you’ll stick to it. Convenience is key to consistency.

Take your time finding the right gym. Don’t rush—this decision matters! I’ll keep sending you more tips on workouts and everything else, but make sure you’ve got your gym and gear squared away first.

Are you feeling the excitement yet? I know I am! I can’t wait for you to start transforming your life for the better.

See you tomorrow! 🤗
