Eek - germs!

Mike succumbed to Covid 2 or 3 days after meeting with our daughter who unknowingly had it. It was the day after his birthday too, we were due to go to a fancy restaurant he likes to celebrate his birthday.

I got away with it for another week, but then I caught it too. Damn!

Had a horrible chest infection in November, and another one just a few weeks ago, and now this. I don't like this game!

I got my first fainter line on testing this morning, so it's on its way out at last. Mike tested negative a couple of days ago. Just as well, he's been going out of his mind with boredom!

I haven't been bored at all, just very tired.

We can book a date at that restaurant now!

I had to cancel my dentists appointment which was really annoying as we haven't had a dentist at the practice for about 2 years. I've tried ringing to re-schedule, but can't get through - sigh.

Mothers Day

Not able to meet up with either of my daughters today, or my own Mum. But we've all been in contact which is lovely.

I send my Mum a little Hotel Chocolat hamper every month, she does love her chocolate and I didn't know what to send her for this occasion, she wasn't keen on flowers. At nearly 96, it's a bit too much effort for her.

Then I had a brainwave and thought that you can send things like a cream tea and eventually settled on a big pack of brownies. Twelve different flavours. She was delighted, she can freeze any that look like they might not be used within a week or ten days, but knowing Mum, she'll have one every day!

I used Chummy's Bakery, from the picture that my sister sent of Mum and her brownies, they are every bit as good as the picture looks on their website!

Lightning Fibre

Heathfield has had fibre broadband fitted all round the town and after a long wait, we finally had it installed in the house.

I am alright with tech, but my goodness, there is such a lot of fiddling around whenever a big change is made.

The broadband is all working everywhere in the house now. The office where I work was the most difficult. They said to use a little plug-in extender and to try it in various places to send the signal further. After a LOT of fiddling about, I plugged it direct into my MAC using an ethernet cable and it worked beautifully.

I've switched off the old TalkTalk router and have left it for a week to see if there were any problems. The next step is to get the TalkTalk broadband cancelled and go for landline only. Our mobile signal isn't really good enough to not have a landline, although I'll try making more calls on the mobile and see if there is much difference.

What I've been making in previous March's

Easter is not that far away, so I'll try and find something Eastery next time. In the meantime, here are some tasty things.

I published an ebook for meal plan 1 in August 2021 and am delighted that many people have thought it was worth getting. I repriced it again in June 2022 and it was still holding on, even in these scary times. Now we are in September and prices have shifted again and

I've managed to get my head around WooCommerce so I can feature it on the blog and you can find it here.

I was busy recooking, photographing and updating the recipes for Meal Plan 2 and putting them into an ebook as well. The meal plan was first written in 2013 and still prices up, which is fabulous and that is finally complete. The book is done now too, prices seem to be stable enough to do it.

I'm well into creating an e-book from the Stretch A Chicken To Last A Week series, hope it won't be long before it's finished. Got a couple of images to take, which means cooking the recipe, and 1 more recipe to write up.
