Hey there,

Welcome to the Card Minnows Newsletter. Here's a list of the coolest things I've seen this week:

Pokemon TCG: Eevee Heroes Japanese Set

We have a release date! The much anticipated Eevee Heroes set is coming out on May 28th in Japan.

Each booster pack will contain an extra puzzle card. This card is to be used in a standalone game outside of the main TCG.

There will be 69 cards, not including secret rare cards. This set will feature V cards of 8 Eevee evolutions including:

  • Vaporeon V
  • Jolteon V
  • Flareon V
  • Espeon V
  • Umbreon V
  • Glaceon V
  • Leafeon V
  • Sylveon V

I'm excited for this set but so are a lot of collectors. It's going to be difficult to get your hands on one of these packs.

PSA Acquires Genamint, Inc.

PSA announced last week that they acquired the software company, Genamint, Inc.

Genamint specializes in scanning trading cards. Their technology analyzes each card to provide diagnostics, measurements, and detect alterations. PSA will use this technology to assist the human graders and help them catch up with the backlog of cards.

There were also rumors that PSA could use this technology to create an app to their customers. The theory is that users could scan cards with their phones and use the Genamint technology to see an estimated grade.

The user could then decide whether or not it was worth it to send in the card. This would save the user money. And it would also help PSA lower the number of submissions.

I don't think the rumor holds much water but I would definitely use an app like that.

Regardless if there is an app or not, I like this move by PSA. Anything to help them speed up the grading process is a plus in my book.
