Our Process Through Trying Times
Through the past year, we have seen all the hardships and uncertainty that came with the pandemic and how it affected all business, including us. It has been quite frightening to say the least.
It is a true blessing to be able to write this newsletter today about how we adapted and grew through these trying times.
Our showroom used to operate on a walk-in basis, which left clients waiting until one of our project managers became available. This often led to a crowded showroom with potential for spreading the virus and was no longer an option.
That’s when we realized we needed an immediate change, and the appointment requirement came to be. It was concerning at first because it was a completely different way to operate. We invested in new user-friendly systems to book appointments online for showroom visits and virtual as well.
This led to a safer and more organized environment that also gave us time to sanitize stations after each appointment. We also increased the professional cleaning visits during the week.
We don’t plan on going back to a walk-in basis.
The virtual appointments have also been a success. If you are not able to book a showroom appointment to see the materials in person, we can meet with you via zoom. You will have one whole hour to discuss your project ideas from the comfort of your home.
By showing us your space and emailing rough measurements, you can receive a free estimate via email on the same day of your consultation.
Another key factor that has helped us stay strong is being able to maintain a fast turn around time.
If using Legacy for countertops only, we require two home visits which include one to laser template the space and a second to install the new countertops. Everything can be completed within two - two and a half weeks.
We are currently working on purchasing more materials to keep in stock and hope to have them arrive soon. This is a hardship business that depend on containers have been facing for a while now.
Shipping rates are at a record high and take much longer to arrive at the U.S port. Some even call it a bidding war since the ships only make a profit if the freight rates are high enough.
Most of our stones come from other countries which is why we must prepare for a price increase in certain materials depending on costs to get them here. This is true not only for the countertop industry, but all other construction areas that depend on foreign supplies as well.
Don’t worry, we will continue to operate creatively and in ways that keep us improving and serving our community in the best possible way. Together, we will continue to succeed and outgrow the hardships. Stay strong!
Sincerely,
Legacy Team
