, it's Wednesday...and I'm tired.

So to keep it short and sweet, here are a few life and writing updates.

Rhyme Crimes

I was checking my 9-year-old daughter's school work (we homeschool for those who are new!) and came across this...

Y'all, I laughed so hard. Kids are fun. Sometimes. haha

Writing Updates

Last week I was so excited because I wrote 6k words in two days! Then, I realized something...I was bored out of my mind.

After talking with my critique partner (aka questioning my ability to write anything), she helped me to see that I was missing a vital component.

And so...I went back and rewrote NINE chapters. It was painful getting rid of some of those scenes. But it's flowing so much better. And I've still been able to salvage some of my favorite lines (and add new ones!)

I'm still hesitant to give a release date since this book has been kicking my butt. I'm really hoping and praying for an early 2024 release. I'm also working on a few top-secret projects that I can't wait to start sharing with you all!

Meanwhile, have a laugh at this typo that appeared when I fell asleep while writing...

Books You May Enjoy

I had the opportunity to beta-read this book and oh my goodness! Listen, if you've never read a Jennifer Q. Hunt book, you need to do that ASAP. This book releases in January 2024, but I highly recommend that you read the first book, Through Thorny Ways, before then! (It was my favorite book until I read All Now Mysterious.) These books are full of faith, real people with real struggles (I dare you not to cry), heartache, romance, family bonds, mysteries, and so much more!

Wisteria House could be their haven of protection—or make them a target for the lawless.

Nearly destroyed by his wife before she destroyed herself, airmail pilot Davis Rutledge plans his future safely alone. But when an old friend is arrested courtesy of a violent KKK leader, Davis steps in to try to help her avoid an undeserved fate. Soon, however, she’s the one helping him in ways he could never have imagined.

As a successful journalist, Meg Woodhouse has never shied from a challenge or doubted her capabilitiesuntil now. Her secret crush on the silent, stalwart pilot is the only crack in the walls she’s built to protect her shattered heart. But with the Scopes Monkey Trial captivating the nation, and ruthless Klan leaders continuing to evade justice, she must choose between a fight for truth or a future of love.

Will newly-uncovered secrets bring peace to Wisteria House’s troubled past or destroy its hope for the future?

Secret office romance and more secrets.

Lately, I've been coming to terms with the possibility that I may not have my happy ever after, after all.

Pausing my quest for love, I embarked on a work trip with a colleague of mine who I wasn’t particularly fond of. He was quite the opposite of me, and to be honest, his wit and energy irritated me.

Imagine my surprise, to find myself falling in love with this guy? I guess working with him, and sharing moments with him, sprung feelings I never knew were existent.

With him feeling the same way, we decide to make our relationship official while keeping it a secret at work.

Yet, my excitement is short-lived the moment I learn of a secret Tobias had kept hidden for years.

The question is, is Tobias willing to do what it takes for the sake of our love?
