Happy Wednesday !

The kids and I are back in the swing of things with homeschool, and I'm slowly starting to write again.

I'm really loving these characters and I hope you will too! They're sweet, cautious about opening their hearts, and both are grieving different things in different ways. Researching hockey has been interesting too and Instagram has been showing me all the hockey reels and I am here for it.

Snippet from Single Dad Center

Here's a little unedited peek at Single Dad Center.

“So you aren’t even a little curious what your mom wants to say to you?”

“Nope.” Shaking my head, I avert my gaze. “I don’t need to hear anything she has to say.”

“Even if it’s an apology?”

She’s twenty-five years too late, Archer.”

“Hmm . . .”

My eyes narrow. “What’s that supposed to mean?”

Lifting a shoulder, he replies, “As long as we’re breathing, repentance is never too late. And neither is forgiveness. Don’t you think?” He’s backed me into a corner. He knows I can’t refute him.

“So we should let toxic people back into our lives? Cater to them?”

His brown eyes are sympathetic.“I didn’t say that. But if you don’t give her a chance, how do you know whether she’s genuine or not? Besides, the forgiveness is going to be one hundred percent on you.”

I stiffen at his words, but I can’t deny that he’s right. I hate that he’s right. “Geez, no pressure there,” I reply sarcastically.

I just finished this wonderful book and I am not okay. 😭

It's such a beautiful book tackling so many different things (dysfunctional families, church hurt, cancel culture, etc). The faith is beautiful and rich. And there's a sweet romance side plot that is light enough for those who don't like a lot of romance in their books.

If you haven't read this one, I highly recommend picking it up!

The only place that Oakleigh Davenport feels close to God is when she's out in the ocean riding the waves on her surfboard, which is ironic because feeling close to God is the family business. Being an influencer, socialite, and daughter of a prominent megachurch pastor is no easy image to uphold. After a reputation destroying mistake, Oakleigh's world comes crashing down as she is forced to forfeit her social status, clout, and trust fund, leaving her to solely rely on the charity of others. Trading her surfboard for a pair of cowboy boots, she is exiled to Callaway Ranch, a little corner of the world that belongs to her Aunt Maeve, the whispered about black sheep of the family.

Through it all, she realizes that things aren't always as they seem and that family secrets run deep. As she searches to find her identity apart from everything she's ever known, Oakleigh discovers that her journey at Callaway Ranch comes complete with boundless love and compassion, handsome bull riders, and a soul-filling cup of cowboy coffee.
