Happy Friday!

Can you believe it's August already? Where has this year gone? The older I get, the more time seems to pass quicker than I could've ever imagined. I would say I have nothing to show for it, but I've published ten stories already this year!

There's not much to share this week in terms of what's going on with me. I've been a busy little bee behind the scenes, writing and editing. I hired a PA to take on some of my administrative stuff, which has been a relief.

Other than that, there's nothing new.

Oh, well, except this one thing.

Meet Bexley and Bastian. They're heading to Mountain Ridge Resort (modeled after Mountain Lake Lodge, which is where Dirty Dancing was filmed), so look out for the easter eggs I dropped referencing the movie. 😉

BEXLEY

When my manager told me they booked me a residency for the summer, I expected Vegas, not Virginia. And I certainly never imagined that I'd be performing more Frozen than my own stuff.

But here I am, working at the Kids' Club at the Mountain Ridge Resort for the summer until Sebastian Lowe, the hottest music producer, walks in with his two little cubs in tow.

Sparks fly when our eyes lock, and then he asks me for a favor ... Saying yes means getting up close and intimate with a man who could make or break my career.

But will he make or break my heart at the same time?

I did the marriage and babies thing. I even have an incredible career that I'm so proud of. But then my wife died, leaving me with two under two, and five years later, I'm still struggling without her.

My parents insist I need to find a mom for my kids. In fact, insist might be putting it nicely. They're unbearable. And stupid me told them I was seeing someone just to get them off my back.

Asking Bexley to be my fake girlfriend is asking for trouble, especially when she eagerly agrees. But seeing her with my kids makes me yearn for something I didn't think I was missing.

It's only supposed to be for a week ... but what if it's forever?
