Reality is stranger than fiction

I'm asked often whether I weave any real life details into my stories and the answer is a resounding...
Now obviously I change the names, places, etc to protect the innocent, yada yada yada, but real life inspires stories so I like to throw in a few nuggets of reality.
For instance, the entire location (inn) in the first Greylyn the Guardian Angel book, Rekindled Prophecy, was an actual B&B in Front Royal, VA where my wedding was held twenty-five years ago this month. The name was changed in the book (and the inn has since closed and been sold), the innkeeper's name was changed but the character was based on the real proprietor, and the scenic location in the Shenandoah Valley... all real! Greylyn's favorite drink, the Godfather, is the preferred cocktail of my husband.
In the second book of the trilogy, Revelations, the bar Greylyn and Jasper search for the vampire clutch, was based on a club I frequented when living in the area years ago. I frequented it WAY too much! The three floors in the real life version were Hell (basement playing 70s music), Purgatory (middle floor) playing 90s music, and Heaven (top floor) playing 80s music. Can anyone guess the real name of the club?
In the third book of the trilogy, Redemption, Greylyn ends up at the place of her birth, Enniskillen, Ireland where there happens to be a hotel resort of a close semblance in name to the real B&B from book 1 and the real inn where I was married. Literally, one letter difference. (Fun note: I had no idea of the closeness in the names until AFTER I wrote and published the entire series.)
Coming up in my latest WIP, the story starts at an event I have attended for years... the annual Halloween party. All else, including characters and locations, are fictional. But the inspiration for the story came from the Halloween party.
Inspiration comes from everywhere, including our real everyday humdrum lives.

Have an incredible summer, my lovelies! Read, Read, and Read some more. By end of summer, I hope to have release news for my latest WIP.
