Am I even writing?

Okay, I know. It's been a good long while since I published anything new. My most recent release was "Renegade Angel" in May 2024 (over a year ago)!

Honestly, if the story hadn't already been started (it was initially published in the USA Today Bestselling boxset, "Realm of Darkness" in October 2022; I expanded the story and republished in 2024 instead of doing an entire series), my last book would've been "Falling for the Devil" in January 2023!

That's a gosh-darn long time between books, so I can see why some have asked, "WTF is up? We need another book!"

2023 was a difficult year to say the very least where I had no time to write or do anything really due to caring for my ailing mom who passed in December of that year.

2024 was me trying to figure out where my life (personal and business) was going. I had to work on myself and put my own physical and mental health as a top priority. So I wrote but decided I needed something more which led to obtaining my certification with the Professional Book Editors Association to forward my book editing career (as a means to fund my book writing career because it's expensive - book covers, marketing, editing, etc.).

I did write in 2024. It just wasn't my top priority to get it ready to publish and I didn't want to rush it because I truly believe THIS book is awesome-sauce! I loved writing it, I love the characters, the story, and writing it was quite therapeutic. I want to get it RIGHT!

The book is written. Currently, it's with another editor because... I want to get it 100% right before publication. I have an amazing friend working on book cover mockups for me. She's amazing. I just am the worst about knowing what I want for my book covers unless I see a premade book cover that inspires an entire story which is what happened with "Falling for the Devil."

The goal is publication in early fall 2025 for "Psychic in Suburbia: Midlife Misadventures of a Medium Mom." An exact date has not been set until AFTER I get the manuscript back from the editor. I don't want to rush the process. General vibes of this story are magical midlife (with less magic, more spooky shenanigans) along the lines of the "Glimmer Lake" series by Elizabeth Hunter. Think if the "Gilmore Girls" married "Supernatural." If there's good sales and interest when it is published, I'd like to do a full series.

In the meantime (2025), I've been pecking away at my keyboard for something completely new - a non-paranormal romance! There will be sexy ex-Navy SEALs, strong women, action & adventure, some PTSD healing, with another book in a series percolating in my head. Working title changes daily from "No Place for a Hero" and "Broken." The 2nd one's working title is "Bulletproof." If you ever watched "Strike Back" you'll get the general vibes of the story. If you enjoy Susan Stoker, Naomi McKay, Rayne Lewis, Jen Talty, and others, you'll enjoy this.

I'm not going to rush this one, but if things progress as well as they have been this summer while writing the story, I hope to have it released before the end of this year!

AND THAT'S WHAT I'VE BEEN UP TO!

I apologize it's been so long since I released a new story, but I promise it'll be worth the wait.

Oh, and based on your responses, it looks like (if I find the time) I will expand the "Dreaming of Dragons" short story into a full-length novel and possibly a YA Fantasy series. More on that in 2026 though.

As mentioned above, the book editing is funding my book writing so if you're an author in need of an editor or you know an author in need of an editor, send them my way!
