A long time ago, in a book far away

As a child I wanted one thing... to be an author! A published author, to be clear. An author of fantasy and paranormal tropes because I have always loved all things supernatural.

But reality got the way and my parents pushed me into a college degree for the sake of job security whether that's what I wanted or not. So I became an accountant! YES, an accountant! And I hated every second. I was able to transition to other jobs where I did not have to work on people's taxes and even now I make hubby do the taxes due to my tax accounting PTSD. Still, I was far, far away from my dream of being an author.

Until... we moved to North Carolina and I quit my job to stay home with the kids. Not being the Betty Crocker or June Cleaver type, I did enjoy being with my kiddos. But then they all went off to school during the daytime and I was left wondering what to do with my time. Eventually my spirit guides walloped upside my head to remind me of my dream to be become a writer.

It had been years...decades even...since I'd written anything for fun! Boring reports, research papers, etc. - SURE! But a fun, fictional story? I couldn't recall how that worked precisely so I took my time, dipping my toes into writing.

First, I did freelance content writing (if you want to know all about water ionizers, I'm your gal!). Then, I moved to ghostwriting romance and cozy mysteries. Steep learning curve! Eventually, after a couple years, I decided it was time. Time to write my own stories under my own name (well, my own pen name). My first foray into this new realm was a short story included in the Bowman's Inn Anthology (sadly, no longer available).

While the anthology is no longer available, if you'd be interested in reading my very first published story (in my own pen name), please reply to this email and I'll send you a copy. It's a short story (only 38 pages).

Thanks for allowing me a short stroll down memory lane.
