Tolosa Half & Tolosa Quarter results are here!

Hi ,
Today was the 5th time the Tolosa Half has ever been held - and what a day it was! We've got runner results in this email and a whole stack more!
But first: as Todd Sculthorpe reminded us in his Welcome to Country, when we run, we are "Connecting to Country" - something that's vital to our collective well-being, culture and future sustainability. This was a strong theme today, as we heard it first hand too from Ben Hirst from Run for Mental Health and Relationships Australia Tasmania. We hope you really felt the unity of our community as we did today!
Congratulations!
Congratulations to absolutely everyone who took part in our Tolosa Half (Enduro) and Tolosa Quarter (Sport) events!
A special congrats too to our placegetters - although as you no doubt know by now, our events are definitely not just about the fastest runners!
Having said that, we reckon Dave Bailey deserves a special shout-out! He's now won the Tolosa Half FOUR of the FIVE times it's been held!!
The women were super fast on the Tolosa Quarter course today with the course record being smashed by over 6 minutes! In fact, the top 6 women were all under the course record! The blokes were fast also with the top two coming in under the course record time, taking over 3 minutes off it.
All the results are now up, head to our website to check out your time!
And remember, here's what you need to know if you're keen to be in contention for our Champions of kunanyi!
At the end of the Series, we award the runners in each category who have the three best finish placements across the years’ events. That means you need to have competed at least 3 of our 4 events across the year to be eligible & all in the same category - ie all Enduro or all Sport.
Will David Bailey make it 4 years in a row as our male Enduro Champion? Will Jess McDonald retain her title as the first female Sport Champion of kunanyi?
Thanks & Congrats for telling us like it is!
Congratulations also to Thomas Hawthorne and Simone Fitzgerald - who's names were randomly drawn today! They were among nearly 70 people who kindly took the time to fill out a survey to help us shape our 2024 Series!
We'll be in touch about your prize: free entry to one of our 2024 events!
A huge thanks to our volunteers
We want to give a special shout out to all our volunteers! From our course markers and sweeps, to photographers, merch sellers, and BBQ cooks! These events simply wouldn't happen without volunteers and they (along with our runners!) are truly what make these events so community-focussed!
And thanks to Christina, from our brand new partner Sanara Studio for joining us today and providing the post-run stretches! We hope many of you are feeling a little more limber than you might have otherwise!
Big gratitude too Find Your Feet for all the generous Spot Prizes they provided - especially for the 2 run vests which were awarded to Sam Wilkinson & Hannah Wigston who showed us the best stoke across the finish line!
It was a tough call though - there was a lot of stoke across the day!!
Thanks to our other fabulous partners Relationships Australia Tasmania, Smitten Merino, Lost Freight, Fractel, Flip Insurance, Hansen Orchards and RunX Nutrition!
We hope you loved your free BBQ, thanks now to Relationships Australia Tas! It was so great to see so many of you stick around, have a yarn and hopefully make some new connections in the community.
Let's hang out again!
It's always hard to believe it when we reach this time of the year! Our last event of the 2023 Series is the Cascade Slide and Cascade 4.0 on Saturday October 21!
It's an afternoon (twilight) run, so what better way to wrap up the Series with a #runwithkunanyi, and then a free BBQ and hangout with our fab trail running community!
And if you're looking to rest the legs, why not put them up & have a read of the first ever Tassie Trailhead magazine! There are some incredible stories and adventures being had amongst our awesome community!
We hope to see you and your support crew at our last event of 2023!
Cat, Lincoln, and little Charlie
