Hi ,

We're just 2 weeks out from the 5th running of Tolosa Half!! Will you be joining us on Sunday August 6? We've also got the newer Tolosa Quarter (9.8km) on offer too!

And to mark the 5th ever Tolosa Half, here's a little trivia for you!

David Bailey has won the Tolosa Half three of the four times that it has been held! And the only time he hasn’t won the event was in 2021, when he came second to fellow Hobart runner, Titch Haggar.

He's registered to run this year too - but there's no pressure Dave!

We're wishing all the best to you, and all our runners - no matter where you place! And we reckon that we can all take some inspiration from Dave's approach:

“I just like to ‘get into the zone’ and push myself as hard as possible. My goal for any race is achieved if I know I got the most out of myself on the day, regardless of the result".

- David Bailey -

Post-run yoga stretches at Tolosa Half/Quarter!

In some great news, our new movement partner, Sanara Studio, will be on hand at our Tolosa Park event hub to assist you post-run!

They'll be running short post-run yoga stretches every 20 minutes from 10am/when the first runners cross the finish line.

That means you have time to catch your breath, stock up on lollies, apples or chips from our recovery station, grab a egg & bacon or scrambled tofu burger - AND be taken through a gentle stretch - all when it suits you!

A kunanyi story: "Couch to Cascade 4.0"

We're super excited to share this 'kunanyi story'! You may remember Nikki - she was one of our Directors in 2022.

She’s now on a journey to go from “couch to Cascade 4.0” over the next four months and she's inviting the community to come along, through a blog on our website!

image

Nikki says she's "never been a runner”, is someone who’s battled with Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome for 15 years and has been the mum “martyr”. But she’s looking to rebuild and reclaim herself -- AND she’s brave enough to share that journey with us, up to our Cascade Slide & Cascade 4.0 event.

She'll be writing a blog post every few weeks - talking about the mental health benefits of connecting with nature, her practice runs with fellow runners, and how she's building her physical and mental strength through yoga and pilates as well.

We know you'll join us in wishing her all the very best, and we look forward to hearing more from her during the journey, and seeing Nikki at our Cascade Slide/Cascade 4.0 event in October!

And we hope to see you and your support crew before then, at Tolosa Park in just 2 weeks!

Cat, Lincoln, and little Charlie
