Etch A Sketch (Grammar, Punctuation, Syntax)

image

As a bell-ringer early in the academic year, I gamify the teaching of the basics such as grammar, punctuation, and syntax.

And when I make lesson plans, I ask myself two questions:

  1. Will students be engaged?
  2. Will the instruction challenge my top learners?

No matter how brilliant my students are on Day #1, even the best need a refresher when it comes to solidifying foundational literacies.

In today's video, I showcase my Etch A Sketch and something that I call "The 5 Sentences of the Day."

Note how easy it is to teach these skills in ways that lead to mastery ...

And also note how fun the learning is!

This is just one of the many tricks I have up my sleeve to teach mastery of the basics.

On July 12th at 7 p.m. EST I will be hosting my Nuance Academy short course training live in Zoom.

Come fill your toolbox with a ton of engaging and effective strategies to teach the following:

🎯Grammar, Punctuation, and Syntax

🎯 Voice, Rhythm, and Flow

In this 90-minute session, you will learn how to equip your students with the necessary skills to become total package writers!
