Barbie Movie: Rhetorical Analysis

image

Much like yourself, I can't seem to ever shut down the gears of my teacher brain.

So there I am, in a theater watching the new Barbie movie, and Gloria's poignant monologue has me cooing ...

"LESSON PLAN!!!"

In today's writing workshop video, I walk teachers and students through the process of constructing a rhetorical analysis of this speech while pulling the strings of my heuristic (commonly referred to as a template).

Per usual, I "Bob Ross" my instruction and "paint" several intros, bodies, and conclusion paragraphs in an effort to demystify the process.

This is a timely assignment that is right in the center of many students' wheelhouse.

As we turn the calendar page to August, I am all sorts of fired up for the new school year and will be very active making new and engaging content.

Happy teaching and happy writing!
