When communication goes sideways šŸ™ˆ (because it will!)

Communication is so HARD, !

We think people understand what we mean… but half the time they don’t. And when things get misunderstood? Drama, hurt feelings, and unnecessary arguments happen fast.

I learned this the hard way in high school.

I vented to a friend about someone in our group who was super hyper and honestly annoyed me. That friend repeated what I said—and boom šŸ’„

Friendship tension I never meant to start.

Looking back, I wish I had done things differently.

Here’s what would’ve helped:

  • Use ā€œIā€ statements – instead of blaming, I should have focused on what I was feeling
  • Practice empathy – I never once took the time to consider what the other girl was dealing with
  • Don’t assume – I didn't even try to ask her questions about what was going on

And the hardest part to admit?

I didn’t show her the love of Christ.

God made her with strengths I didn’t have (she was super creative and an awesome multitasker), but instead of appreciating that, I let frustration win.

If you struggle with communication…

If you feel stuck in your head…

If sharing your faith feels awkward or scary…

You’re not alone.

Hit reply and tell me:

šŸ‘‰ What’s something you struggle to communicate about?

OR

šŸ‘‰ How are you trying to live out your faith with friends right now?

I’m cheering you on šŸ’•
