When communication goes sideways š (because it will!)

Communication is so HARD, !
We think people understand what we mean⦠but half the time they donāt. And when things get misunderstood? Drama, hurt feelings, and unnecessary arguments happen fast.
I learned this the hard way in high school.
I vented to a friend about someone in our group who was super hyper and honestly annoyed me. That friend repeated what I saidāand boom š„
Friendship tension I never meant to start.
Looking back, I wish I had done things differently.
Hereās what wouldāve helped:
- Use āIā statements ā instead of blaming, I should have focused on what I was feeling
- Practice empathy ā I never once took the time to consider what the other girl was dealing with
- Donāt assume ā I didn't even try to ask her questions about what was going on
And the hardest part to admit?
I didnāt show her the love of Christ.
God made her with strengths I didnāt have (she was super creative and an awesome multitasker), but instead of appreciating that, I let frustration win.
