Do you know to Billy Joe McGuffrey is?

Happy Wednesday !
It's the first day of school here and I have this song stuck in my head. My kids loved Veggie Tales growing up, so we listened to it a lot. Every year when this time of year rolls around, I end up humming this tune for weeks.
My daughter is starting 10th grade and this is the first year I only have one kid in school. Two kids have already graduated college and before I know it she will be finished with high school and on her way to college. I'm not rushing anything since she's my baby. If you'd like to see her obligatory first day picture, it will be on my social media at some point today.
I don't have much book news to share today. It's been a busy two weeks helping my son finish up some projects on his new house. We had a housewarming shower for him this past weekend and lots of family and friends were able to visit with us. Check out this view from his back porch!
This weekend isn't very busy for me, so I'm hoping to escape somewhere and work on my book. I'm ready to finish this story because I have two new ideas I'm super excited about.
Hope you have a blessed week!
Forever Yours, Lucy
by Emily Dana Botrous
*Kindle Unlimited*
A man who doesn’t trust women, the frustratingly wonderful woman who works for him, and the words that change everything.
Silas McIntyre is a successful entrepreneur who lacks for nothing—except a woman in his life. That’s because he has a bone to pick with womankind. So, it’s especially galling for him to realize how dependent he has become on his all-too-female personal assistant.
If Lucy Halverson can ever figure out how to make a good choice instead of a foolish one, she’ll be happy. Starting over sounds good. Leaving her grumpy boss, all the better. Not even a secret admirer with a penchant for writing swoon-worthy words can change her mind, whoever he is.
When Lucy announces her intent to leave Silas’s employment, he’ll do just about anything to keep her—even make her fall for him. But when he’s the one to fall instead, his battered heart is on the line.
As Lucy learns there is more to Silas than she ever dreamed, she has to make a decision. Will it be her best one yet—or another disaster to add to her list?
The Fake Date
by Jess Mastorakos
*Kindle Unlimited*
My rules as Mr. Fake Date? Weddings only. Kissing has a surcharge. And catching feelings is absolutely forbidden. What could go wrong?
As a professional wedding date, I have strict boundaries.
Feelings make things messy, and I need this side gig because my pay as an active-duty Marine isn’t nearly enough to cover my old man’s medical bills.
Then my pops shocks me with one of those gut-wrenching “Make me a promise, son” kinda talks, saying he wants me to give up this fake-dating business and find something real.
But then the bookish stunner I’ve been low-key crushing on for over a year suddenly needs my services.
And even though this gorgeous woman and her beautifully different brain could be the one to make me risk it all, I’ll be her perfect fake date … and then I’ll walk away.
Because despite the promise I made to my pops, I won’t fall in love with her only to lose her like I’ve lost everybody else.
I can’t.
