Happy Wednesday !

Over the past 4 weekends I've traveled to Columbia, SC, Atlanta, GA, Spartanburg, SC, and Raleigh, NC. Needless to say, it's been a busy month for me. Now I'm looking forward to having two weekends off where I can enjoy some much needed R&R at home!

If I'm being completely honest, I have to admit I haven't had much writing time the past few weeks either. I feel like I've been so wrapped up in my day-to-day life that I don't have much to share on the author front.

This newsletter is for you--my loyal readers--so I'd like to know what kind of things you'd like to hear about. These are a few ideas that came to mind, but I'm open to more suggestions too:

  • character interviews
  • book setting inspiration
  • more about my personal life
  • author interviews
  • book excerpts/teasers
  • my writing process
  • *your suggestions!

Until next time, happy reading!

Remember Home

by Ginny Sterling

Dear John…

For teacher Lily Hogan, those words would come to mean so much. She knew that giving back to the community brought joy into people’s lives. When her fourth-grade class writes letters to the military overseas in Afghanistan, she takes up her own pen and leads her students by example – writing a letter to an unknown soldier.

CPO John Griffin and his K-9 dog, Radar, have been through so much together over the last several years. Sniffing out bombs, searching the hills and mentoring his team, he feels so alone and unsure of his future- until a letter reminds him that there’s more to life in this world he’s protecting. Simple words, a kind gesture and feeling that he isn’t forgotten out there in the desert, compels him to write back. Before long, he finds himself looking forward to the care packages and letters from his pen-pal halfway across the world.

With every letter and every word, they begin to develop a friendship and wonder what the other person is truly like? Major life changes are scary enough as it is - but is it possible to fall in love with someone before you’ve even laid eyes upon them?

A Cowboy's Recipe for Romance

by Amy Probestel

He’s ready to settle down. Her first love is music. When he brings home a gold digger to meet the folks, will the hired help put a song in his soul?

Randy Easton is a rancher at heart. So when the wealthy Texan decides to propose to his high-maintenance girlfriend, he takes her to the family homestead hoping she’ll embrace the quiet wide-open spaces. But after her loathing for horses shatters his dreams, he finds himself drawn to a melodious singing voice coming from the kitchen.

Becky Monroe has found her groove as personal chef to rich cattlemen. But the aspiring songwriter’s perfect pitch screeches out of tune when the ruggedly handsome heir rides in, accompanied by a backstabbing spitfire. And when her employers leave on an extended vacation, she’s trapped serving the hunky cowboy and the vegan vixen with a predator’s thirst for the kill.

Though Randy strikes a fast friendship with the country-gal cook, he struggles to search for his suddenly missing parents while keeping his would-be bridezilla happy. And as Becky does her best to maintain a professional distance, she can’t help but feel that falling for the boss’s gorgeous son has all the ingredients for happily ever after.

Will this star-crossed couple discover that together they hit all the right notes?

The Billionaire's Nanny

by Elizabeth Maddrey

When I convinced my friends to join me in a scheme to play the stock market, it paid off beyond our expectations. Honestly, most days I don’t even remember that I’m a billionaire. But it was big news for my family. In fact, my cousin made me guardian of her son in the event something happened to her.

At face value, it sounds kind of nice.

But I never really knew my cousin.

And I only found out about her decision a week before the kid showed up on my doorstep.

Thankfully, the woman who brought the boy out to me on the plane is willing to stay and be his nanny.

Since all the local daycares have a waiting list, I don’t have the luxury of being picky. Maybe I have reservations about sharing my home with a beautiful woman, but it’s a completely professional relationship.

She’s going to look after the kid.

I’m going to look after my heart.image
