My favorite color is Christmas lights
Dec 04, 2020 7:03 pm
I can't believe it's already December. I mean, I'm not upset about it... despite the fact that I've barely started my Christmas shopping. Are you ready for the holidays? My tree is up, the house is decorated, and it's feeling very festive inside!
Have you read my FREE novella yet? You should have already received a copy of the book, but if not, reply to this email and I'll send you a link.
Where the Heart Is gives you a lot of back story to Brexen & Bristol's sibling relationship and how they ended up where they are now.
Here's an excerpt from a texting conversation between the two of them:

Brexen: HELP. ME!
Oh, boy. Something’s up. I shouldn’t have allowed the thought in my head just a minute ago. I totally jinxed myself.
Me: What’s wrong?
Brexen: It’s a lost cause. They're ripping me a new one and won’t listen. I don’t know what to do. I’m grounded. GROUNDED. I haven’t lived at home for 2 years, and I’m grounded. Who does that?!
Me: Lol…what did they ground you from?
Brexen: Everything.
Me: More details, please.
Brexen: I go to work. I come home. No hanging out with friends. No gas money to drive anywhere. No fast food budget. No TV. Nothing!
Me: Aren’t you being a little dramatic? 🙄
Brexen: NO! Who grounds a 20-year-old?
Me: Apparently, parents whose kid drops out of college halfway into a semester. 💁🏼♀️
Brexen: 😑
Me: Truth hurts.
Brexen: Can’t you talk to them? Pleeeeeeeeeeeease?!
This is how I got suckered into this last time. I won’t do it again.
Me: Put your big boy britches on and suck it up. Do your time until the academy starts.
Brexen: I won’t have a life when the academy starts, either. It’s literally 6 days a week.
Me: *plays fiddle
Brexen: 🥺
Me: Stop it. I’m not coming.
Brexen: 🥺 🥺 🥺 🥺 🥺
Me: Quit. The sad eyes don’t work on me. Plus, I have a date this weekend, so I can’t.
Brexen: With who?
Me: Gavin.
Brexen: Is this the same dude from a few weekends ago?
Me: That’s him.
Brexen: Will I approve?
Me: Doesn’t matter if you do. I like him. And he plays golf. And he’s teaching me. So, I’m going to be better at a sport than you are, ‘cause you don’t play golf.
Brexen: Just because I don’t play doesn’t mean I can’t.
Me: Ugh. You never give in, do you?
Brexen: 💪🏻
Brexen: But for real, can’t you just call Mom and Dad?
Me: I’m done with this conversation. Buh-bye.
