I can't believe it's already December. I mean, I'm not upset about it... despite the fact that I've barely started my Christmas shopping. Are you ready for the holidays? My tree is up, the house is decorated, and it's feeling very festive inside!

Have you read my FREE novella yet? You should have already received a copy of the book, but if not, reply to this email and I'll send you a link.

Where the Heart Is gives you a lot of back story to Brexen & Bristol's sibling relationship and how they ended up where they are now.

Here's an excerpt from a texting conversation between the two of them:

Brexen: HELP. ME!

Oh, boy. Something’s up. I shouldn’t have allowed the thought in my head just a minute ago. I totally jinxed myself.

Me: What’s wrong?

Brexen: It’s a lost cause. They're ripping me a new one and won’t listen. I don’t know what to do. I’m grounded. GROUNDED. I haven’t lived at home for 2 years, and I’m grounded. Who does that?!

Me: Lol…what did they ground you from?

Brexen: Everything.

Me: More details, please.

Brexen: I go to work. I come home. No hanging out with friends. No gas money to drive anywhere. No fast food budget. No TV. Nothing!

Me: Aren’t you being a little dramatic? 🙄

Brexen: NO! Who grounds a 20-year-old?

Me: Apparently, parents whose kid drops out of college halfway into a semester. 💁🏼‍♀️

Brexen: 😑

Me: Truth hurts.

Brexen: Can’t you talk to them? Pleeeeeeeeeeeease?!

This is how I got suckered into this last time. I won’t do it again.

Me: Put your big boy britches on and suck it up. Do your time until the academy starts.

Brexen: I won’t have a life when the academy starts, either. It’s literally 6 days a week.

Me: *plays fiddle

Brexen: 🥺

Me: Stop it. I’m not coming.

Brexen: 🥺 🥺 🥺 🥺 🥺

Me: Quit. The sad eyes don’t work on me. Plus, I have a date this weekend, so I can’t.

Brexen: With who?

Me: Gavin.

Brexen: Is this the same dude from a few weekends ago?

Me: That’s him.

Brexen: Will I approve?

Me: Doesn’t matter if you do. I like him. And he plays golf. And he’s teaching me. So, I’m going to be better at a sport than you are, ‘cause you don’t play golf.

Brexen: Just because I don’t play doesn’t mean I can’t.

Me: Ugh. You never give in, do you?

Brexen: 💪🏻

Brexen: But for real, can’t you just call Mom and Dad?

Me: I’m done with this conversation. Buh-bye.

Christmas at the Cove

by Jessie Newton

Secrets are never discovered during the holidays, right? That's what these five best friends are banking on as they gather once again to Five Island Cove for what they hope will be a Christmas to remember.

AJ has a real boyfriend now, and he's really coming to the cove to meet her friends and family. She's turned into a domestic goddess as she preps to host Christmas at a rental that will hold everyone for the holidays. But beneath the bulky sweaters, AJ has a secret she won't be able to keep hidden forever.

Eloise is happily wearing her diamond ring, and she can't wait to spoil Aaron's children rotten over the holidays. But when he calls and says there's been an accident, Eloise will never look at Christmas the same.

Robin's just found out her husband needs a new fishing boat or he could sink while at sea. But they don't have the money to replace such a big-ticket item, and she's praying for a miracle this Christmas.

Kelli comes to the cove on a one-way ticket and more than she and her son need for a couple of weeks, but she's too humiliated to tell her friends that she is not cut out for a polyamorous relationship and that her husband has chosen that lifestyle over her.

Alice, struggling to make ends meet for the first time in her life, wants to be the one to bring them all together, bind up their broken hearts, and make Christmas wishes come true. When a mysterious benefactor allows her to do just that, she wonders what the ultimate price will be.

Because she knows better than anyone that everything has a price, and nothing comes for free...
