Happy Wednesday !

I hope you've had a great week so far. I had a mini virtual author retreat this past weekend with some friends and wrote A LOT of words in the new book. Here's a sneak peek for you!

It was really hard for me to stay in my truck and watch her walk to the door of her house. Every part of me wanted to get out, help her down from my “monster truck” as she called it, and kiss her goodnight. I’ve done it a hundred times before, but she’s not my girl anymore.

She’s obviously not ready for me to be back in her life. 

I get it. I’ve been non-existent for years, and I just recently came back to town. I can’t expect us to pick up where we left off no matter how much I’d like to. She made it very clear tonight that she’s off limits. 

The drive home was quiet, but dozens of questions I wanted to ask her rang through my head.

I’m going to have to take it slow if I want to be back in her life. That is if she’ll accept me. She’s probably moved on, and I don’t blame her. However, Nolan said she’s not seeing anyone right now, and there have been only a few relationships on and off over the years. 

If I’m honest, I wonder if it’s because of me. 

Shaking my head, I can’t think that way. I’m the one who left. There is no way I can expect her to still be waiting on me. 

Ellie is safely inside the house now, so I need to leave. Why can’t I put the truck in reverse?
