Happy Wednesday !

We're home safe and sound from all of our volleyball travels. Indianapolis was a cool place! Our hotel was in the middle of the city and we walked everywhere. I certainly got all of my steps in last week, and my smart watch didn't have to remind me to stand up or get moving one single time. Haha! We were all amazed that it didn't get dark until almost 10 pm! In the South, it's usually 8:45-9 pm when it gets dark. Still seeing the peeks of the setting sun through our hotel window at 9:45 at night was so beautiful. White River State Park was right outside our hotel and provided some beautiful scenery and evening strolls.

Now that we're home for a while, I'm back to working on my next book. I snuck in almost a whole chapter during the drive, but I'm ready to devote more time to finish this book. Here's a little teaser for you...

“What do you think about love at first sight?”

Turner’s smile grows even wider and he doesn’t react at all the way I anticipated he might. He swallows the bite he’d been chewing and pulls his knees up toward his chest, propping his elbows on each one. 

“Love at first sight,” he repeats.

I nod. 

He continues to stare at me and smile. “What do you mean?”

“Like, do you believe in it? I’ve seen it on TV and read about it in books before but I’ve never felt like it’s something that could happen in real life.”

His smile falls a bit. 

“Why not?” he asks. 

“You haven’t answered my question yet,” I state.

“Well, to be honest, I've actually considered it before.” He pauses before continuing. “But I’m curious what makes you ask.”

“I don’t know. It just came to mind when we were talking. It’s one of those things I wanted to see your reaction, not just hear your response.”

“That’s a pretty bold question to ask on a first date,” Turner quips.

“Is this considered a first date?” I quirk an eyebrow at him. 

“I don’t know. Is it?” he quirks an eyebrow right back. 

“We barely know each other. I’m not sure I’m ready to consider you date material yet.”

“Yet,” he repeats. “So there’s the hope of an actual date in the future?”

His tone is light but his eyes don’t leave mine. It’s like we’re in a stare-off waiting to see who will cave and look away first. And I’m not losing.
