How going to the dentist is like running a business...

This morning, I had a dentist appointment. It wasn't the worst type of dentist appointment, but it was not the most comfortable either. Mostly, it got me thinking. It got me thinking about the correlation between the dentist, and reaching goals.
If I decide not to go to the dentist, it probably won't affect me much that year. It may not even affect me in the next 5 years. But eventually, it will catch up to me.
Dental hygiene is interestingly connected to your heart health so that's one good reason to go. But not going could also result in cavities, my teeth falling out, or needing a root canal eventually.
So, I have to make the dentist a priority. I have to deal with minor discomfort in order to avoid major problems in the future. Just like going after goals.
Whether you want to start a business, lose weight, start eating healthier, or feel more at peace in your life, you have to do things that may feel a little uncomfortable at first and make it a priority.
You won't notice a difference right away, but eventually, it's going to pay off.

Content ideas for 8/23-8/27
It's time to put a spotlight on your achievements. Sit down with a piece of paper and write out all the things you have accomplished with your business. It can be big or small but come up with 2-3 ideas for this week's Reels content. It can be something like booking a client, coming up with a new strategy, still in business in 2021! This will look different for everyone, and that's the best part. Make it brand specific to YOU and what you do, and share your wins this week.
Monday 23- Share a win. Wins can often be inspirational and a way to learn from others. Sharing your struggles and experiences can catch the eye of potential clients and reel them in for a listen. Think about a time this year you were challenged but overcame the obstacle and talk about it on video. Present the challenge and talk about the solution. Use industry-specific hashtags to promote your message. I can help get you started. Reach out here.
Tuesday 24- Why are you an industry leader? What three things can you offer to your potential client? Write down those three things on paper. Make a video of YOU with the title stating what product or service you provide to your audience and use text bubbles to display the three solutions your product or service offers. Stand in the video, line up your pointing to the text bubbles, and slap some music. You can do this!
Wednesday 25- #KissandMakeupDay This would make a really cute Reel. Reels do well if they have a short script to direct the activity in the video. A re-make of a funny The Office clip would work well if you have an office environment. You can make a video of you kissing and making up with your dog, cat, or spouse. Write it out on paper and have fun with it. It's a fun hashtag.
Thursday 26- #NationalDogDay Do something fun with your dog today and get it on camera. Ideas and settings that are out of the ordinary rank well on Instagram Reels. If you are feeling adventurous, look up the closest pet-friendly cafe and take your furry friend out for a bite to eat. Make sure to take several different video clips of the trip to fuse together for a super cute Reel!
Friday 27- #NationalJustBecauseDay Well, this is going to be fun and entirely up to you. You have come so far! If you have completed all or most of the Reels challenges in my e-mails, then you totally got this. What do you do 'Just because'? Brainstorm about it and then turn it into content!
