I have a question for you ,


Why are you on social media?


You probably fall in one of two categories (maybe the three)


Category 1: You are looking to grow your business (make more money)

Category 2: You want to stay connected with friends

Category 3: You're not on social but you need to be


So if your reading this email, I'm going to assume you're most likely category 1 with a couple of you falling under category 3.


We all probably agree to some extent of category 2, but that's not what we're here talking about.


Ok, you want to grow your business.


To do that, you're going to need to have a following. Anyone following you is great, and they're all super valuable. But the more followers you have, the better opportunity you have to be seen by the ideal person that needs your product or services.


All of that being said, it is important to look for the low-hanging fruit. With so many options of social platforms, you'll want to decide where your ideal client is and what's the best way to reach them.


This can be daunting.


So how about this, is your client on:


Tik Tok (young people, old people, working people, parents)


Clubhouse (business owners, writers, tech people, creatives, iOS users :))


or LinkedIn (professionals, C-Suite, entrepreneurs).


If you said yes to any of those (I'm fairly certain I covered most everyone, and if I didn't reach out and let's chat because your person is on one of those), then pick one of those platforms and go all in.


Why am I suggesting this when I spend most of my time on Facebook and Instagram? These platforms can all be used as funnels to Instagram. They all have a high organic reach. People are learning about them in new ways and there are fewer advertisers.

Facebook is Testing Reels Sharing

Did you need another reason to start creating Reels? When Facebook and Instagram launch something, that means they want us to use it and they will be prioritizing it. This is currently being tested in India but know it's coming! Time to start creating, friends! Read it all here.


Instagram Testing Auto-Captions

Finally!! This is so needed!! And why is it taking so long?? Threads was an app released by Instagram last year that had an option for auto-captions. But it's a bit clunky, the text is huge at times and you have to hold the button as you speak. The caption sticker Instagram is testing will add the captions to the video for you after it's recorded. This is great for accessibility and for people listening with the sound off. Keep a look out in your stickers! Read more here.


LinkedIn Offering Free Learning for Women

On Monday, International Women's Day, LinkedIn announced they would be offering some of their courses for free for women. The courses are geared towards women marketing in the B2B space and will be available until March 21st. Check them all out here.

What do you share about on your account? That's your subject.

Can you break that into 3-5 subtopics? Assign a day of the week to your subtopics. Repeat a few as necessary and be sure one of your subtopics is a day for personal branding. Then break the subtopics into 4 micro-topics. You'll speak on 1 micro-topic per week. Fill out your calendar.
