You may have woken up to some changes on TikTok today. Or maybe you didn't even realize they had happened.

I wanted to be sure that you were informed- but also- I don't want you to worry or stress about this.

First- what happened?

...as of this morning, TikTok pulled all artists under Universal Music Group (happens to be a pretty popular group- T Swift, Drake, SZA, The Beatles, Elton John, Jay-Z and so many more)

The 2 companies have been in disagreement around money for the licensing. And the contract has now ended without a resolution.

I personally find a ton of new music off TikTok, so I'm pretty bummed about it.

Plus, I honestly think this will be resolved. TikTok is responsible for introducing new music and new artists to billions of people every year.

Should you stress about it?

No way, there are still SOOOOOOOOO many options and opportunities. It's time try something a little different. Maybe a talking video or CapCut template.

Plus, there are still plenty of music options, they just aren't the same as they were before this. New Indy artists and creators will start to rise, which is really cool in itself.

Just be aware that some of your drafts may not have music connected any more. And some of your current videos may be muted. Don't even worry about those today.

Keep moving forward, the platform will evolve with this and they may even reach an agreement tomorrow.
